Steve Francis
What is the latest news on Steve Francis? Will he be back with the Rockets next season, healthy and ready to play?

What?
Don't they have Williams?
And "Steve Francis" and "dependable" don't mix and never have.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

You mean not named Deron Williams thats essentially a 20 ppg scorer?
Williams is a better scorer than CP3
I'm a Williams fan (believe he's the second best PG in the league) but he isn't a better scorer than CP3, Paul is much more explosive and has more a knack for taking over a game.

Please... Francis isnt done. Hes been battling knee injuries the past couple of years. Prior to signing with Houston he was injured the majority of the season and came into camp out of shape. I guarantee you Francis has been working out b/c I know hes just itching to get on the court with Yao and McGrady. If he comes back healthy hes a great addition to this team.
Trade BJ contract for another role player and let Francis and Brooks play the backup PG. That is before Francis takes Alstons starting job.

why would you want to trade him? He makes chump change, and if healthy can make afor a great backup guard. It makes no sense to trade him. You have to trade bobby jax who has a larger contract and is older too. They are both the same type of player, it only makes sense to keep the one who is cheaper and wants to make a difference for the team. It is rare to get a player that loves a team as much as this guy does for the rockets.

But they're all trash except for Alston. Brooks should be the full-time backup. At least he's showing signs of improvement and he actually knows how to play.
Bobby's career should really be over soon. He lacks explosiveness to beat his man on offense or to stay in front of his man on defense. He also has a terrible and streaky shot. Add to that, he has zero basketball IQ to be a point guard. He has one mentality: Shoot and score.
Francis is a bit of a question mark. Ever since the trade to the Magic, he has been absolutely garbage. He has never shown the ability to mature and play within a team system instead of going for 'his'. Hopefully his time out this season will help him regain his form. He'd be deadly as a 6th man.

You make it sound absurd to have 4 PGs. It should be obvious to everybody that HOU traded for Bobby for the cap flexibility/expiring contract for next season (and PG-insurance basically). Bobby will be gone by the end of next season no question about it. I also expect Head to be gone by the end of next season.
Right now it looks like we have the 2 PGs for sure in Alston and Brooks. It's a solid combo, but not good enough to be contenders. Francis is still IMO, the x-factor, because we need a offensively-capable PG coming, at least off the bench, and I don't know if Brooks is ready for that role.

He doesn't need to, Paul plays with scrubs, and he needs to create more points for himself. Williams shots less and is far more efficient. Their career highs on points and assists is the same.
Williams is far more of a explosive scorer, just if he needs to. Most of the time, he has Boozer and Okur who he can rely on.
