Trade Yao for Dirk? Would you or would you not?

I am not sure how you guys feel regarding that idea, but I actually like it. I've been watching the Rockets games a lot since I've moved to Houston and I feel that either Mcgrady or Yao has to go as both are injury prone. With that being the case I think getting Dirk would be the best move but trading Yao for him would be what I would do.

Not sure, but would any of you trade Yao for Dirk?

Not sure what else will be required to get a deal like that done, but just curious on what you think about that possibility.

Possible Lineup
PG Rafer/BJax/Brooks
SG T-mac/Head
SF Battier/Harris/Novak
PF Dirk/Scola
C Deke/Landry/Hayes

No. Dirk is a great player, but Yao is younger, is important money wise, and is the best (or 2nd best, depending on opinion) at the toughest position to fill in the NBA. Dirk MIGHT be a top 3 PF...but he might not. And regardless, we have plenty of 4s on teh roster...and a big hole where our 5 should be.

I think we need to give Yao one more season to determine whether his injuries are going to be a constant problem, or whether he's just had a string of bad luck. Let's not forget that his first 3 seasons, Yao missed a total of 2 games.

If Yao is healthy, no way I trade him for Dirk or almost anyone else. If he sustains another major injury next season, though, I think you have to think about rebuilding the team.

p.s. Shaq only played 54, 51, 60, and 49 games in his 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th seasons. Then he had 6 65+ game seasons in a row before succumbing to injury again. Just something to think about.

Dam dude..Deke? The guy is way to old to be starting for a team next year. I am open to trading Yao if it'll get us back 2 good player...one of em being a good post player. To me...guys that size will always have foot problems. He will always have foot problems.

Still..reality is...he is not gonna be traded. Too much money at stake but I know if he injures himself next season Alexander will probably entertain the thought.

No, we won't trade Yao for Dirk.

He brings so much to our team, our fans, our organisation as a whole.

He's a key piece for us.

Diop is a FA this summer so I would...Dirk brings stability and the Rockets need that...

No way.. Perhaps T-Mac+Battier for Dirk and Josh Howard... but never Yao out of Houston. You know the loss of revenues that would mean?

There will be no revenues if we don't make it to the playoffs..
Team to the left beat the Spurs. But lost to the Heat. The Heat are no more. The Spurs beat the Suns this season. So if we get Dirk, we will beat the Spurs next season.

Devin Harris, Terry : Alston, Jackson
Stackhouse : Mcgrady, Head
Howard : Battier
Nowitzki : Nowitzki
Dampier, Diop : Diop

Team to the right is arguably better offensively and defensively compared to the left...

Diop isn't even with the Mavs anymore. He was traded along with devin harris and ager for J-Kidd and malik allen.

How many times has this thread been on here? NOOOO Dirk is a puss and we don't need that. He's proven he can't handle the pressures of the playoffs so why would we want to trade one of the top big men for him? Like someone posted, i'd trade him for tmac. That's a pretty even trade since both of them fold under pressure. We're need someone with a winner's mentality (no one other than lebron and kobe come to mind). I think CP3 and deron have it. D. Rose looks like he has it too.

While we're busy doing things like that, let's give Conoco the Congressional Medal of Honor for the extremely important role it has had in "liberating" Iraq.

I'll say to this trade the same thing I say with regard to Hilary getting elected. If it happens, I'm moving. (more likely with this trade than with the election, if that says anything)

I don't think we'd do it, we'd have no C if we were to do this trade and even if Mutumbo were to not retire. we can't count on him for big minutes. And that's nt even counting the revenue Yao brings.

Hell no. Why do you always ask these dumb questions?

1. Yao will most likely NEVER be traded for Dirk while both are in their primes. Trades like that typically don't happen, and we're division rivals with Dallas.

2. Rockets fans hate Dirk. Even if the addition of Dirk were to bring us a championship, I still don't think I'd do it.
