TJ Ford or Calderon will be available

Calderon came out and said he wants to start, so you can bet that one of those pgs will be moved considering TJ also came out and said he wanted to start. Do we have the pieces to nab one of them?

i would LOVE Calderon.. i see him play a lot since i live in canada and they show a lot of raptors game...this guy is a baller... he can shoot and he is a pass first pg with low ratio of turnover
he is what we need

What do you think about his defense? Seems like Jemeer Nelson ate him and TJ Ford up in the playoffs. If he can't deal w/ Nelson, Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Tony Parker etc. in the west would kill him.

he doesnt have a GREAT defence but its not that bad... i mean he is not worse than steve nash...and he doesnt turn the ball at all..

Toronto will probably keep Calderon
less injured prone, better shooter and bigger in size

I dunno. They're stuck with TJ Ford via his contract size, and Calderon's contract expires after this season. I don't know if he'll be UFA or still be an RFA somehow, but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets bid out of our price range regardless.

Calderon wants to be a starter, so does TJ

I hope they keep TJ and we get Calderon

The last thing you need to worry about is how to defend Jameer Nelson. The Rockets are good defensively because they prescribe to solid team defense. Rafer has good hands, but he isn't some athletic, long-limbed freak. He just follows the defensive game plan, which is all you can ask for defensively from PGs.
If we can get somebody like Calderon and have Alston as back-up PG, we are IMO a legit contender on paper. Our hole at back-up PG is huge.

I don't think I'd want Ford, he will catch our injury bug and have his career ended short.

Well Morey just recently said we're still going to build around BOTH McGrady and Yao, so I don't really see a deal unless an offer comes in and is just too good to pass up (which seems unlikely considering Mac has arguably the lowest trade value of his career).

Not for anything on the Raptors.
As for Calderon, he'd have to really want to come to Houston for us to stand a chance. He's going to have a lot of suitors this summer, and we don't have as much to offer as the other teams.

You Raptors fans have a grudge against him... now leave him alone!

I have no problem going after Calderon. He would fit our system perfectly. But if the Raptors want too much we can forget it.

Is Calderon really any better than Rafer? it doesnt make sense to waste our time trying to upgrade the pg spot, there isnt anyone available thats much better. lets just worry about a 3rd scorer

Raps fan here, I really think Andrea would suit the Rockets so much better than the Raps. Perfect as a 3rd scorer and next to a Real C like Yao.

The chances to get Jose are slim to none. TJ is injury prone and carrying a huge contract and nobody wants him at all. More realistically, Landry will cost us part of MLE. The rest of MLE won't able to net us a difference maker. Comparatively we don't have as many pieces as some other teams to offer for S & T. Morey need to start working on his magic or else we will be stuck at the start of the next season.
