Worst Implosion by a Young Guard: (tie) Jordan Farmar, Lakers, and Luther Head, Rockets

I can't decide what's worse -- going five games with a negative PER when your team is desperate for scoring or going into such a funk that the crowd is visibly relieved because you made a layup. Farmar's faceplant has come on a bigger stage and over more games. He's shooting 27.7 percent for the playoffs and is last among point guards in playoff PER.

But one could argue Head's was even more damaging to the cause. With Rafer Alston out for the first two games, Houston desperately needed another backcourt player to step up. Head shot 1-for-14 in five games before earning a seat in Game 6, with as many turnovers as assists, and didn't make a single 3-pointer. He's dead last in playoff PER among all players,

Farmar should have won that "award" by himself. Luther Head's collapse is more justified anyways. He was being asked to do much more for his team in the playoffs than Farmar is right now.

In any case, his performance was inexcusable and the article just outed him across the nation...and hurt his trade value.

I just realized Bobby Jackson is only 8 spots ahead of him....he got HUGE minutes for us.

We really need to address the PG position as much as any other position if not more.

It's also important to notice that T-Macs PER was 5th highest in the league.
(DO NOT TRADE TMAC)

If we had Yao instead of tmac, we would have gotten swept or won 1 game vs. the Jazz. So of course we can't trade him. I'd like to shore up the 1 and 5 spot this offseason. We really struck it rich getting scola/Landry. If we get a good backup center and decent combo guard, we'll do damage next year pending injuries.

NO combo guards plaease , I want a wing 6'6 and above.
I have had enough with the small ass players who can be effective only if the matchup is right.

And is this NOW obvious to ESPN? Why did they have to remind me that we have head on this team, I had erased him from my memory with the hope that CD does the same (and gets rid off his 1-14 @$$).

That's a bit unfair to say, don't you think?

The bad thing about Luther is that he doesn't try to improve skills that he lacks.

I agree completely. Either get a 6-3 pg with pg skills who can shoot 40% from 3 and make a simple post entry pass or a 6-6 to 6-8 wing who can be an effective scorer.

ESPN suxs. You know Head's stock is all-time low and you don't try to push one more leg on. OMG, Nobody wants Head and he's going to stay and we have to watch how he turnovers the ball.

While we all agree that Luther sucks, even if it took some people here 2+ years to figure that out, can we please work next on realizing that you can't really pin the blame for losing on a third string undersized shooting guard who makes under 2 million/yr?

Yes he sucks. Yes I'd like to trade him if it's remotely possible and have said this since his rookie season. No, he didn't cause us to lose the Utah series, stop kidding yourselves. No, trading him at any cost just to be rid of him will not make us better.

We should have done that Head for Cook trade while we had the chance.

NO WAY. Brian Cook SUCKS and has a bad contract. Luther Head just SUCKS -- there's a difference.
