We NEED to get Rasheed Wallace

Now that he Piston has been eliminated, Rasheed Wallace is supposely on the market and can be had for the right price.

Theres no other way around it, there isn't another player in the NBA that compliments Yao MIng as well as Sheed. Hes the yin to Yao's yan. He's completely nasty, loud maybe even obnoxious. He's perfect. A PF with great length, defends the post as well as any big man in the league, relatively moble, hits the 3 at a high clip, rebound, block shot and can play backup center. Its everything we hoped and envisioned Eddy Griffin to be when we banked our future on him. Now we can get the superman's version of Griffin.

I would trade Tmac and Scola for Sheed and Rip. Hamiton can replace Tmac's scoring and he can do it much more efficiently.(minus the playmaking)

Alston/Brooks
Hamiton/Head
Battier/ Novak
Sheed/Landry
Yao/ Mutombo

DO IT

it would be nice to get him, but no way morey trades 2 younger guys for 2 older ones. hamilton and sheed are both outstanding players, but they're not worth scola and tmac. maybe head, novak, and chucky for rasheed but i dont think the salaries would match. good to have him, but detroit will want too much.

That's one sh*t of an offer. :o

I think its much closer than you think.
Sheed > Scola
Tmac > Rip

But Rip and Sheed are too good of a fit on this team.

I absolutely would love his fit on this team next to Yao, like you said terrific man defender, and can stretch the floor. But considering how inefficient he has become and the way he got lit up against Garnett while making him having to do nothing on the defensive end (and then factoring in attitude, contract and age) that's too much to give IMO.

We'd probably get better defensively with this trade, but offensively we become worse because Rip doesn't nearly garner the attention McGrady does, nor play-make as well as him and Scola is a comparable scorer to Sheed at this point in their careers.

I'd pass if it was for this price, I think we become worse.

This is one of the best proposals I've seen on this board.
Like TMACFORMVP said, with the loss of McGrady, we'll lose the luxury of having a 2nd playmaker.

If we can somehow replace Rafer for a better pass first PG, I will take this deal immediately.

Trade T-mac, Scola and Head for Billups, Hamilton and Sheed

Now that's something we'd do, but Detroit wouldn't IMO. Mac's value is probably at an all time low at this point.

It'd be nice to get Rasheed, but we don't really have the pieces to get him without giving up something that would worsen our team.

Ok, while having Sheed on the team is a nice thought, let's remember that he's 34 for all of next season, while making over 13 million as an expiring contract. It's going to be hard to get him at all for next year without shooting ourselves in the foot, which the proposed trade did. Unless your core is nearing its last hurrah or something, you really don't want to go for broke (which is why the Suns' really bad trade was excusable).

edit: woohoo i just said the same thing as the previous poster in a lot more words! Par f'r the course, innit?

the deal is pretty unfair for detriot imo. pretty much losing 3 allstars for 1 allstar.

Yeah, we really "need" an unmotivated thirty four year old with anger problems. Let's get rid of our two best playoff performers in the process. That makes sense.

We have zero playmaking if we lose McGrady, and Yao will be relied on so much that he's out by game ten. I agree that we need a shakeup to be legit contenders, but a trade like this isn't even close. We get two aging semi-stars, and get rid of a superstar, and the borderline ROY Scola. No thanks.

Sheed has become more of a 3 pts shooter than a post up player

Isn't that what we've been looking for all these years? A defensive big with a deadly 3 point shot. Tell me how many of those there are in the league. But i completely agree if some posters here are reluctant to trade Tmac. I mean Rip and Sheed are good.. really really good.

Sheed is capable of shoot three pointers, but "deadly"? .356 last season and .341 career don't really qualify him on that.

Everytime lukeridnour posts, I think it's JordansBulls.

Lukeridnour, change your avatar bro. JordansBulls had it first.

Detroit dends Billiups and Sheed to Houston we send Tmac? I know it hurts us loosing T-mac but we get a stud PG and PF who fits Our system. Plus Sheed has one year left on his contract. Anyway let the bashing begin.

Head, Jackson, Scola, 25th pick for Sheed can work, would they do it though? I dunno there is one part saying not a chance in hell, the other saying they get 2 expirings and a talented international PF.

Im back guys, my computer stopped working, but now its fixed.

I was listening to EPSN790 and they talked about the Rip and Rasheed for T-Mac trade.

I personally would do that trade. Rip is capable of bringing the ball donw court and he gives us a scorer. Rasheed can play defense against tough Centers and Power Fowards and he can score also.
