"We're really focused on being able to upgrade for next year's playoffs," Morey said. "Don't judge the team on Oct. 1. We think we've got a lot of assets that a lot of teams want

I think Morey is looking to add a real good player to the Alston , Yao , Scola , Mcgrady Battier and Landry core , without giving up one of them.
And that's the right thing to do. That is a scary-good core. Biggest issue is of course, health.

Sounds like we may not do anything significant until 2009. While Jackson will be more valueable at the deadline if we do get a new player or two wouldn't chemistry be a problem if it's done with little more than half a season left?
We all know how long it took the offense to work even though we seemed to abandon it in the playoffs.

we finally solved our PF rotation problem
we are not going to dig a bigger hole just to fill a small hole

We think we've got a lot of assets that a lot of teams want — a lot of ways to upgrade. Often the best opportunities to use those come at trade deadlines."
Just like I thought , all the good expiring delas trades come at the deadline , rarely before that.
We probably will have to see Luther and Bobby here next year but please Morey get rid of them at the deadline.
I think Morey is looking to add a real good player to the Alston , Yao , Scola , Mcgrady Battier and Landry core , without giving up one of them.
But if that doesn't come he better be ready to blow this thing up and ship Battier plus some other asstes for someone like Artest.
How? Those guys are the only ones with trade value.

As yesterday, we have. Other. Assets. 2 expirings, MLE, and I think LLE, at least. Harris is an asset too.

Jackson and Francis are expiring contracts if someone wants to dump salary.
Brooks will have value , especially if he starts shooting like he is capable of.
The guy we draft eith the 25th pick will have some value.
Future picks , Luther Head is not that yerrible.
But like I said if we can't swing a deal without giving up our core , we have to give one of them up and try something different because the same roster won't get it done.

So are gonna be able to use the full MLE? Or do we need to use a portion of our MLE to sign Landry to an extension?

i believe so
that's the only way we can offer him more money and longer contract length

Dam, there goes our reliable backup SG/SF. Again, Head will be Tmac's primary backup.

I would be mad if we keep Harris next year , get someone with more talent who might be a player someday.
I really want us to draft CDR.

Oh god, we're in deeper trouble than i thought.

Green wouldnt be that bad given an opportunity to learn the system and get some playing time. I am hoping we get an additional 2nd and go after Keith Brumbaugh. We need to take a chance on a kid like this he seems to be getting his life straight. We would need some luck for somthing like that to work but we are due for some more Landry Luck!!!! That would solve some of our problems at SG/SF postion, that is also if they can learn the system and produce. I would also love us getting Marcus Williams from NJ he has good size and he use to punk D. Williams in College.

Green would've been great if, i dont know, he has all ten of his fingers? He couldn't even get playing time on a Lotto Boston and Minny team.
