Poor guy, anyone remember that knee injury?

I was watching it live, man that was painful, looked horrible. Now he may never have a career again, how old is he...like 22?

no career as a professional basketball player
he can have other career in other field
he's only 22 he can still go to college

tragic thing that happened to him. if he could actually get better, i wouldnt mind him as a backup to mac or rafer at the point. at 6'7", he can easily see over other guards, but im not sure about his knee.

what makes you so confident that he cannot return professionally?
its not like he was ever known for blinding quickness or athleticism
he's still tall and can dribble with good court vision

This is pretty random.

If the Rockets had the roster room,he'd be a guy I wouldn't mind the Rockets taking a chance on w/ a conditional offer.
BTW,Livingston was pretty fast, had good quickness and was a good defender of SG/SFs. His problem was never he played PG in HS and the Clips immediately tried to make him one. He should be a SG in the Josh Childress mode. Livingston is much better passer,Childress is much stronger and a better finisher.
But he'll have to show he can play before anybody takes a chance on him.(If he shows he can play,he might be somebody to keep an eye on for next yr,as he's prob going to sign a 1 yr deal w/an opt out.)

he was injured prone and was not really good before his kneecap popped
he wont be any better after the injured
what make you think Clippers declined the extension and making him unrestricted free agent next year

Yeah, I thought this was going to be a thread on us trying to acquire him.

Anyways, yeah I remember cringing when I first saw the injury. But like max said, he was already very injury prone before the one that's taken him out the last 1 and 1/2 years and real unfortunate since he had a lot of potential.

Side Note: I remember playing NBA Live 06 (yeah I know Live sucks..) and on Dynasty mode, Livingston turned into one of the best PG's in the league lol.

It's not always best to take need over talent in the NBA draft, but with long-term concerns over injured guard Shaun Livingston, it would be a shock if the Clippers didn't take a guard with the seventh pick. Livingston destroyed his left knee after landing awkwardly following a missed layup against Charlotte in February 2007, tearing the anterior cruciate ligament, the posterior cruciate ligament, and the lateral meniscus. The fourth overall pick in 2004 missed last season and it's uncertain when he will play again. An NBA source said the Clippers aren't expected to make Livingston a qualifying offer (the lowest starts at $5.8 million), making him an unrestricted free agent July 1. But with major knee concerns, it's uncertain the Clippers, or any team, will be rushing to sign him. According to the source, Livingston can't work out back-to-back days and needs about 90 minutes of therapy before doing noncontact basketball drills. There is speculation he might not be able to play at the NBA level again. What made Livingston special: he is a point guard with Magic Johnson-like height, at 6 feet 7 inches. But if he returns without his spectacular quickness, he could move to the small forward position.

Well, coming off an injury like that...any educated general manager would be hesitant to offer 6 million and you can't blame them for considering not picking up the option. If he hadn't gotten injured, there would be no 2nd thought.

He can still be good...not Magic Johnson as people expected when he came in the league..but still good.
