I think Scola will probably still be the most consistent player next year. I'll go out on a limb and say Brooks will show the most improvement in his sophmore year being Alston's primary backup.

I think Scola will have the better year.
Having one NBA year under his belt, he can't go any where but up. I see him scoring at least 13 a game.

Landry will be improved on the bench, if he resigns with us. I see him as a energy type player for us. Something Stromile wasnt for us.

The only was I see Brooks having a good 2nd year is if, as you said, Jackson doesnt be on our team and Aaron becomes our backup. But I see Bobby coming back.

What? I do. I can't see Adelman giving Brooks the backup PG spot just yet.

Have to agree w/AJ on Jackson. Morey has made it clear Jackson's trade value will be max around Feb trading deadline-that's when he'll be moved.I imagine Brooks will spend most of first half of season in D-League.
Scola will be a little more assured, more ready for what he needs to do,more consistant in his numbers-instead of 20 one game,6 the next,he'll prob get 12-16 a night.
Landry has the best opportunity to improve-developing a 3pt shot, playing some SF,learning how to get his own shot, learning how to defend NBA PFs,etc.
But Scola's maturation into a reliable player will be the rookie who's improvement means most to the team.
All in all Scola becoming a steady, reliable contributor will be the

Pretty much what Guy said. Scola will be the best of them and Brooks has the most room for improvement.
Morey 2020.

All 3 will be better next year than this last year, but Luis Scola having the experience and the quality could be even a third option for the Rockets.

I don't think Scola will be a 3rd option. I see Morey getting someone to be our 3rd option. Scola at best will be our 4th option which is good for our team, cause opposing defensive does not have to go after him hard like they do T-Mac, Yao and our new 3rd scorer.

Easily Scola, he'll have a season under his belt, an assured starter and played much better the second half of the season in his rookie year.

When will be the performance evaluation of these 3? At the end of the next season? Then i say Brooks. In any case, NBA team need 3 PG for the 82 games. Brooks will get his playing time and if Morey could not get this backup SG at the start of next season then Jackson will play some SG while Brooks take up the PG backup playing time.

It has to be Scola. Scola is very skilled, smart, and crafty with the basketball. After having one NBA season under his belt in which he scored 10 ppg, I see him improving and coming back to score 13-16 a game. Before the NBA he was a good FT shooter, so if he can get back on track with that, add a couple of post moves, and continue to stay out of foul trouble then I think we may have ourselves a legitimate starting PF.

Scola was already getting better when Yao was in the line-up or not. I think he will exploit Yao's attention and probably have a couple 30 point games and maybe even get a 40 plus. The guy had a chance to get his feet wet and now he's going to adjust to the NBA game.

I think Landry will get a major injury and Brooks will take another year or so to develop but be shipped off.

Scola will have the better 2nd year, but I believe that Landry should and will break out as a big contributer off the bench, I can seriously see him coming off the bench for about 10-13pts and 6-7 rebounds.

Scola
Landry
Brooks

in that order

I can see Scola entrenching himself as the full-time starter. He'll get a solid 13/7 for us, and play well for us alongside Yao.

I can see Landry getting a few more minutes per game; perhaps 20 a night. He needs to stay healthy for us though...I can see 11/6 from him off the bench. Productive.

Brooks...I don't know. We're too clogged at the 1 for him to get enough minutes to impress.

Here are the things I want from each player:
Scola needs to have more confidence and consistency in his midrange jumper , and feed Yao with passes from the high post.
Brooks needs to start making his 3's , his game will look so much better if he does that , he also needs to drive and dish or kick out more , he can get to the lane when he please , needs to make better decisions when he gets there.

Landry I hope he can become David West light.
Have more confidence in his jumper that is very good imo.
He got some ball handling skills I think he can develop a nice faceup game.

Scola wil be the best player in their 2nd year.

i dont understand the love for brooks... dont get me wrong he is a good player... but hes not even 6 foot tall... he is and always be at best a backup PG... and if one day he becomes our starting point guard for good... i give up on the rockets... and quit being a team fan, and just being a player fan

There shouldn't be a discussion in this thread. The answer is obvious.

Return to Houston Rockets
