[Board Project] Top 20 All-Time Rockets (Spot #11)

3 IMPORTANT RULES!!!
1. Members must consider former/current Rockets players only. Hence, PLEASE CONSIDER THEIR YEARS WITH THE ROCKETS ONLY!!!

2. We'll have a field of 5 candidates for each voting. Each member must vote one player from the field that is worthy to be in the Top 20 list.

3. Additionally, each member must nominate a candidate he/she feels should be added to the field for the subsequent ranking. This nomination is to replace the winner in the following vote.
(In each thread, we have a list of 5 candidates where one will be chosen as the winner. Since in every thread, we'll be voting one player off the list, it leaves only 4 candidates. Hence, the nomination is to include one player and make it a 5 candidate list for the next round.)

All former/current Rockets players are found here:

I thought I posted in this thread already, but it's not here.

Umm.... if a double post appears, we'll know what happened.

Here is what I said before:

Francis was robbed in the last thread.

Vote: Franchise
Nominate: Chuck

 I was thinking about that a few threads back. I actually tried to submit a post about how we may eventually have to put up Rafer, but the board was buggy. It is crazy to think, but he may actually at least be a strong candidate for a nomination bid before it is all said and done.

Nah, Otis was a 17 pt, 10 reb player on a championship team. Along with playing 6 SOLID seasons. Francis fell off his 5th season under JVG, where he was actually playing in a system. Before JVG he was allowed to do what ever he felt like doing, hence the open and free Rudy T. system where he averaged 20pts, 6reb, 6ast, along with close to 4 turnovers. There is no way Francis was robbed, if there were more quality all stars on that championship team, then Francis would fall even more, Francis's best seasons were 2001, and 2003 with the Rockets, he was actually efficient those seasons, where the Rockets missed out of the playoffs by only 1 game. But Otis Thorpe is rightfully ahead of Francis.

Good point. My vote on the last one is changed to Thorpe (not that it matters). I had put Francis ahead on the basis of his getting us TMac and some other crap, and somehow (oh wait, not "somehow", it's cause i'm not taking this all that seriously and doing good checks like normal :P ) forgot that Thorpe got us Drexler, duh. Tie there, and Thorpe wins by a mile everywhere else.

Steve Francis wins spot #11.
Since there's a tie between Mike Newlin and Charles Barkley, both players will be nomination.

Yes, I will in the next round. I heard that he didn't receive his 2nd ring.

I don't know, man. Sure, Francis sucks now, but Thorpe wasn't a multi-year All-Star, he didn't average crazy numbers, he wasn't nearly as athletic, and he didn't have anything close to the skill set Franchise did.

At 6'3, Stevie was (kind of) running the team, getting lobs thrown to him, was the focus of the opposing defense, and was still getting over 20, 6, and 6 a game. That's unheard of for a guy that small (and who can't palm the ball).

If you take away Steve and put Otis on those teams, we don't come close to winning 45 games (and missing the playoffs), or almost beating Shaq's Lakers in the first round.
