In each of the last two NBA Drafts the Houston Rockets have identified a player to target, but then failed in their attempts to move up to acquire that player, the Houston Chronicle is reporting.
The players they wanted - Brandon Roy in 2006 and Rudy Fernandez last season - were taken just two spots before the Rockets' position in the draft.
This season, they're hoping to land the player they want at their own draft position, which is selection 25.

If the player their looking for is Rush, I'm doubting he falls to us, he looks like he might go in the 16-22 range, but I'd love it if he fell to us.

Yeah I know moving up with our 1rst rounder is unlikely but I hope we can move up from 54 to the 32-40 range in the 2nd round.

If you're putting "[Chron]" in the title, at least put a link to the original Chron article.

Not surprising at all. We simply don't have the pieces to move up.
Who knows what Morey's thinking but I'd like to have Rush or Lee or CDR. I don't think players like Batum, Hibbert and Lopez are NBA ready.

I'm hoping for one of Speights, CDR, or Batum to slip. I wouldn't mind Rush or Chalmers either.

Soory bout that man, I was rushing this morning and forgot to edit it.
Most of the players that was mentioned in the article is likely to be gone, so I don't think Morey would do a trade up. Our starting 5 is set, and we are in need of scoring role players so I see us going after Courtney Lee or CDR. I personally think the Magic will pick one of them up cause the other to slip to us, and I have a feeling it would be CDR.
