The Draft Night Drinking Game

Post#1 » by Ribalding » Thu Jun 26, 2008 7:47 pm

OK, I've officially given up trying to predict who Morey will take. Whoever the seemingly hair-brained pick turns out to be, he'll wind up contributing. This much we know. (Personally, I think Morey does it just to F with internet message board users. But I'm a little paranoid.)

So instead of trying, and in the interest of sanity and fun, here are the rules for the Houston Rockets Draft Night Drinking Game:

1. One sip : Every time Stephen A. Smith raises his voice. ("One drink", in this instance, would put you in renal failure by 7:00.)

2. One large sip : Every time the word " 'tweener" is used.

3. One large sip : Every time the phrase "combo guard" is used.

4. One drink : Every time the phrase "this is a very deep draft" is used.

5. One drink : Every mention of Javale Magee's mother.

6. One shot : If, in reference to her, the phrase "crazy bi%^h" is used.

6. One drink : Every time the video clip of CDR dunking of Kevin Love is shown.

7. One shot : Every time a Duke grad uses the phrase "high basketball IQ". (Careful with this one. There's a Duke grad on the ESPN broadcast crew.)

8. One drink per spot you were wrong: This one's a little complicated. Hear me out. If you selected player x to be picked by the Rockets and player x winds up being picked 3 spots before (or after) the Rockets pick - you drink 3. Doesn't matter where the Rox end up picking in the 1st round. So if they trade way up, we're all screwed. If, however, they trade OUT of the 1st round, everybody gets a bye.

9. One drink : Every time CDR is referred to us "unorthodox".

10. One drink : Every time the words "Donte Green" and "Tracy McGrady" are used in the same sentence.

OK, that should just about do it. Feel free to add your own.

**Edit**

1. In the interest of public health, the maximum # of drinks under rule #8 are capped at 5.
2. You don't get to play if you will be driving home.

Awesome thread.
I will be having some friends for the draft. But the problem is, none of them are Rockets fans. I might have to tweak the rules a bit. :D

This should be a rule: if the Hecklers show up, everyone has to meet up again and shotgun a beer!!!

Rule 11 : Every time the phrase "Cheese Doodles" makes it on ESPN's air, take a shot.

Update : Not only is it 5 o'clock somewhere, it's now 5:00 on the east coast of America. Lets get going, fellas. Time's a' wastin'.

We need something with Stuart Scott. Dude's gonna be annoying as hell.

Alright, it's game time...

Kinda cool idea, but obviously can't support a drinking game here unfortunately.
