Cuttino Mobley?

Anyone ever think of him as our backup swing?
We could swing Bobby, Luther for him. This is no intention to pair him & Stevie up again, but a legit basketball move. He's not the Cat anymore, not a legit 18ppg player in 35mpg anymore. But in about 25mpg he can get us about 13ppg, very good shooter, and can play good defense.

This would be my last option to get, his contract isn't really that great, but I'd go for it, if we can't get anything better for Jackson. Lol...Francis and Cat were once starting back court mates, and the future of this franchise, if they got back together this time, they would be playing in the same back court OFF THE BENCH lol.

Cuttino Mobley will go John Amaechi at Steve Francis. We don't need that type of locker-room distraction.

I've thought about it before, and I wouldn't be against it.
Why would the Paper Clips be willing to move him, though? Did they draft a 2? I wasn't paying attention to their draft. And what about Corey Maggette? Aren't they trying to move him?
I seriously doubt they trade their starting and backup 2s.

If I were the Clippers, I'd trade both Mobley and Maggette.
Clippers drafted SF Thornton in last years draft and SG Eric Gordon in this year's draft. I think these two players are perfect replacements for the future.

i don't want to see the days where he and Francis hogging the ball for 20 seconds on the shotclock anymore

Cat's salary is way out of line with his production, he's always been a good ball stopper on offense, and he's 33 - a good defensive drop-off age (which again, is also why I started to pre-emptively think it's a good idea to trade Rafer now). Unless we want him for his expiring contract next year for some crazy reason, pass.

I think it was more like Steve Francis hogging the ball for 20 seconds while Cuttino Mobley watching him with lust.

Heck no to Cuttino. He is best suited to be the back SG to Gordon than playing for us.

When I say bringing the cat over, I don't mean as a to start him, play him big minutes
But as our primary swing off the bench, cause right now that is actually Bobby jackson and he pushes McGrady to the 3 when he's in. Mobley isn't the young Mobley, but he's still quite good.
And we all know we aren't gonna play Mobley & Francis and let them to do their early '00 things, this is just to improve depth and adding a scoring punch from the wings which we need. Right now Bobby is our backup swing, sadly.

No , not good enough.
We need someone better if we really want to make noise in the playoffs.

Probably right, but with Artest contemplating opting out, and Mike already traded...what can we do?
At the deadline, anyone know which 3rd scorers could be in a bad position, enough so that a team would take a youngster + expiring?

Do ya'll think that instead of cuttino..maybe anthony parker would be a good target to trade for?
I dont know if tor would be willing to trade him..but i mean hes the same age as cuttino and puts up very decent stats..along with being 6'6. Im sure we could offer them something..just as an option though im not proposing anything.
ps: Im new here..but a huge rockets fan since i was a little kid.

I could be wrong here, but I think Colangelo said that he would match for Parker.
BTW, welcome to the board.

Thanks!
Yea I figured they wouldn't be so hot on letting him go. I don't know..Cuttino always seemed frail to me although he is good haha.
I just feel like Morey should just play it smart and safe this summer until the deadline. I know I want trades to happen but I have to force my self to be patient haha.
