Alright I'm not saying that we should get him or am proposing anything..but I just read from the front page that he may be bought out obviously because of his large salary and what not, but i just have a question. Why IS this guy such a cancer? I've never really been able to figure it out. During the draft on thursday night Van Gundy stated that he is still a good player and a good point guard in this league..but I mean NO one i know likes him and it has always baffled me. I know stats are not everything..but he has put up pretty damn good numbers from what i have seen throughout his career. We have stevie francis on our team..but in my opinion marbury may be something that we MAYBE should take a chance on. I dont know..hes kinda sketchy though..

Well to sum things up, hes a Steve Francis that doesn't rebound. Basically have the same skills when you think about it. Both like to attack, dribble, turnover the ball, and just do what they want. I don't think he is fit to play in an actual system, which is one of the reasons he failed with Larry Brown badly. Obviously its not Steph's fault that the Knicks are this bad, there are other big contracts and players on the team. Knicks IMO are one of the top talented teams in terms of individual productions, but all of them aren't fit to play together its as simple as that.

The problem with Marbury is and always has been that he cares more for himself than his team. He forced a trade out of Minnesota (which was a playoff team) just so he could go to a bigger market and get more money.

In New Jersey he once wrote "4 me" or something like that on his shoes. They ended up trading him because they could not get him to buy into the system. PHX did the same thing. They realized that he wasn't the guy who was going to lead their team where they wanted to go.

Stephen A. Smith relates some of Marbury's quotes, in which Marbury says he's struggling in NY because he's been required to "get everyone else involved."

Only Marbury & Francis have fell off the map so fast after such impressive young careers. I don't think it's really basketbal related, but more off the court related, I think they are relegated by every day activities and to keep up with them. They just don't focus on basketball until the season starts, and generally the off-season is where all the hard work is and the season shows it.

These guys just gave up on it, they were hungry when they were younger, they have little love for the game, just love for the name of being a professional basketball athlete. They've accomplished a lot more than the average guy obviously, NBA all-stars, 10mil + contracts....thats all they wanted and cared about, now that they got it....they could care less what happens.

Francis stopped caring about the game when his boyfriend was traded from Orlando to the Paper Clips.

After that, he got on the Shawn Kemp Diet Plan.

Wouldn't ya'll say our PG position is kinda iffy as of now then?
I mean a lot of focus is on our perimiter wing players and a 3rd scorer..but when it comes down to it outside Alston who do we have that can be a reliable contributor at the PG position?

Who could we add that can not necessarily be starting material but share the PG position effectively with Alston?

It would be a lot more iffy if Marbury was included.

Vooch, yes, behind backup sg/sf, pg is our next weakest position. Marbury is the anti-solution, obviously, and there aren't a ton of options. AFAIK the best option we have for a starter upgrade is Hinrich, but that still leaves us weak at backup pg and still handicaps us financially. Really hoping Brooks improves over the summer.

Yea im hoping brooks improves too.
He really showed some flashes in the playoffs gettin past Deron couple of times. I think we are gonna hold on to Bobby Jackson until we are sure brooks can take that backup position.
