Hooray for slightly upgrading our team. Now maybe we can win twenty three games in a row.

More like now maybe we can have a reliable backup SG who won't choke and render himself useless against the Jazz.

Yay now we have a backup wing that isn't a midget.

Barry is landed means Head in Houston's days is over. We finally get something going right. This off-season has been killing slow.

Sure, maybe it will help us beat Utah in the the first round, but ultimately, he was brought in to make up for Head's deficiencies, and not much more. Moves like this are nice little improvements to the team, but really, they aren't going to propel us to contender status.

I guess I just feel like not seeing what we really have to work with until the trade deadline is kind of ridiculous, and more than a little frustrating.

A healthy duo of T-Mac and Yao with effective role players around them will propel us to contender status.

Sure Brent Barry isnt a huge name but he gets the job done in both the regular season AND the playoffs unlike Luther Head.

Everyone is looking for that 12-15 PPG guy to come off the bench and be a reliable third scorer and I think its obvious that Barry isn't that guy. But it also looks like that guy will probably be gotten during the trade deadline. Francis and B-Jax with their total 9 mill. in expiring contracts and a guy with a s*it load of potential in Donte Greene could get us a real nice player at the deadline.

Nice pick-up. Good shooter, reliable, and not under-sized.

Don't write off Head yet. The Rockets need some 20-25 minutes off the bench at the wings and Barry at his age can't do it. Head last yr was only Rocket who consistantly made cuts Adelman wants in his system and displayed an ability to get past his man and get off a shot. Until another wing is brought in expect Head to get some 5-10min/game at the 2.

Man this guy can be our third scorer.

LOL this is nothing but a crap signing. If he is healthy he could help but I wouldn't count on it. Still waiting for a 'splash'.

we got BJax and Brooks capable to play alongside Alston in the backcourt
we still got Francis
we can definitely trade Head away

The guy can shot (Head job coming from the bench), and he can have Wells role being the sub. for Shane, right? i'am ok with that, but hes 36 and i'am sure he will be 20/30 games out for some reason.

we also have 16/17 players now. trade Head, Brooks and Jackson for something good. How about a decent PG who can easily score...

Alston/
Tmac/Francis
Shane/Barry/Novak
Scolandry/Hayes
Yao/Dorsey/Mutombo

edit: oops, sorry, hes 37, and will finish next season with 38, and we know not everyone is mutombo, if he plays 60-65 games next season will be fine i guess...

He's 36 and will end the season at 37.

I think he's good for 20-25 minutes off the bench. He was playing behind Ginobili, Finley, Bowen, and Udoka on the Spurs and still played 17 minutes. He's the first option off the bench for us at the wing I think.

Also, his game, as athletic as he used to be, does not depend on athleticism. Have you seen the way he shoots? He doesn't jump. His career TS% is .607 and he shot .655 last year. I think he's good for at least two more years.

Yay.

Houston is now the basketball equivalent of White Zinfandel :

"where Barrys go to die"

You're not allowed to talk anymore until you've gotten enough traffic tickets to quit wetting yourself over rolling through a stop sign.
