Is Landry really worth signing?

I know a lot of us would like to resign Landry, But I would ask everyone to take a look at the players out there who play the same postion or play with the same kind of spark. Most of these guys are restricted but, Ryan Gomes, Josh Childress, Dorell Wright, Chris Anderson, and the long shots Luol Deng, Andris Biedrins, and Houstons own Emeka Okafor. Landry is a grat spark plug for our offense, but fact is fact, he has a knee problem and I am not sure if I wouldnt try to do a sign and trade for maybe Okafor who could play the 4 and back up the 5. Or make a offer to Ryan Gomes who in my opioion is Landry with out any health issues. So the question is this is Carl Landry worth it??

Carl Landry doesn't have "a knee problem" just because he hurt his knee once in a game. That's ridiculous; it's not a chronic illness.
Childress, Deng, and Wright are 3s, not 4s.
Anderson sucks.
Ryan Gomes is decent, but he doesn't try to dunk everything like Landry does. Landry has a higher ceiling.
We won't be able to pry Beidrins or Okafor away from their respective teams. Besides, Beidrins is soft. Okafor is solid, but if injury problems concern you, you shouldn't even bring him up.
To answer your question:
Yes, Landry is worth it.

Apparently Morey and Adelman think so considering they are keeping the whole MLE intact just in case some team attempts to lure him away with a fat contract.

Worth what? He hasn't even received any offers yet, so we don't know what we'd be paying. It's not like we have anything else to spend the MLE on, anyway, so yes, he's worth signing.

Landry is 6'7 245 PF who plays like a SF( like to dunk everything ) that is why I included 3 and 4. He averaged 8.1 ppg with 4.9 RBs in 16.9 minutes. Those are great numbers, but I fear the typical (Cato and Maloney) Contracts that the rockets love to give to guys who play well here and there. Hell Landry didnt play in the first 33 games of the season and only got a chance because of injury. I dont want us to give a boat load of money to guy who has had one decent year. Then we are stuck with him for 5

Dawson isn't running the team anymore. Morey is no fool.

Exactly and he is taller than 6'7 without shoes.

Hell yes. There is not a player out there that we could have with the MLE better than Landry.

I'm thinking none,
Of course Landry is worth resigning. If we dont sign him we wont have a proven backup PF and we would have to scramble for one in free-agency and there arent any good ones left. I just hope Morey doesnt overpay for him because he has no business getting more money than Scola. lol

the only free agent worth signing that we could afford was Corey Maggette. Morey should've pursued him.

Beasly at 6'8 is listed 6'10.
Landry at 6'9 is listed at 6'7.

All I am saying Is Lets hope he doesnt turn into Cato, Maloney, or Moochie Norris, big contract sucky play. Oh By the way I did watch him play (Dunk Dunk Dunk Dunk ) All did was dunk on 3's Never saw him dunk on many 4's and when he came back from injury he didnt anything except the block in the playoffs. You watch he is going get a 25 million deal and for that kind of loot we could get a better proven player.

Are you kidding me dude? Anybody who asks that question, I have to follow up with another question... Do you even watch the games or just skim through the box scores ?!?!? F*CK YES !!! We MUST re-sign Landry.
C'mon maan!! Deng, Biendrins, Okafor or any player of that caliber is an absolute PIPE DREAM !!! Of course it would be nice to have any of those players but we would have to gut our team just for the other GM's to listen. Do you honestly think were going get someone like that for Jackson, Head, and Landry??

And I dont know about you or anybody else but I actually LOVE to have some quality DEPTH on our team now!!
Damn it Morey get the **** done with NOW !!!

Like who? There's no one left who we could realistically get without gutting our team.
What's more important to you: proven player with a big contract, or potential and high ceiling? Landry is worth a good portion of the MLE, and that's what he'll probably get. Stop worrying.

We need to go after a player like Nenad Kristic. New Jersey has already stated that they can't afford him and he would be a way better backup than Deke or Dorsey. All he askin for is a two year-deal. I'd rather give him some of the MLE than Landry. Also he will save Yao for the playoffs and be a force inside. So no to Sorry Landry & Yes to Nenad Kristic!!! Like yall say on this board "GET ON IT MOREY"

If NJ can't afford Kristic, we can't either.
Teams are allowed to exceed the cap to re-sign their own players, and can offer more money than other teams.

Listen for one second. You misunderstood me when I said " Can't Afford Him". Meaning they have too many big man under contract (Stromile Swift, Sean Williams, Josh Boone, One of those Lopez Brothers, Yi Jianlian & Bobby Simmons's contract). So that's why New Jersey can't afford him and we can afford him (2yr/6.0 or 6.5 mil). Don't say we can't afford sombody look at the numbers before you reply. New Jersey is trying to free up cap space for the so called " King James ".

I didn't misunderstand, you misspoke. You said "can't afford," but you really meant "don't want."
There's a difference.
Nenad is a decent player, but if the choice was between he and Landry, I'd take the guy who dunks on everyone and plays like a man possessed.
But sure, if I were Morey I'd take a look at Kristic if the price is right.
