I'm starting hear people say that the Rockets won't make the playoffs? Especially on RealGM. I personally think it is absurd and unfounded but is their any reason to believe the Rockets won't make the playoffs (other than health)?

If not I will continue believing these people are complete morons.

What the heck is wrong with the Rockets? They seem to be one of the most hated teams in the league. Even their own fans don't like them a lot of the time.

Sometimes I have to really stare hard at our homepage to make SURE that it doesn't say "Home of the L.A. Clippers". Geez.

I kinda find it strange that a team with 2 superstars who are top 10-15 in the league and a DPOY candidate and great defensive backup center with a great team defense doubts their team.

Hell if I could switch conferences and be a Rockets fan I would believe our team could win the title every year with the talent that we would have.

You can make a good point one way or the other. I have friends who are fans of other teams and when we are talking about the Rockets it's always a joke to them cause they do not consider them a threat to do anything. But I will say we were in first place during the stretch run before the post season without Yao so it's difficult to tell.

I guess winning a playoff series would help things.

The more the Rockets are doubted by non-Rockets fans the better IMO

obinna are you a rockets fan? Because to a rockets regular this is really nothing new.. we get hate from all sides media, fans, grandmothers, wildlife...God... when we do, i say WHEN, get out of the first round well get haters saying "FINALLY" so comes with the territory

People who has been watching the team in the last months/2 years, should know what can the team do if healthy, so better not say anything and let time speak.

Anyway i have not seen a lot of rockets bashing in the general thread, there are always the typical anti-rockets, but it's normal thing since there are also anti-celtics, anti-lakers, or anti-spurs.

its yao's fault thats why! fans would rather see a dwight howard-dunking like a bull type of a player than see a typical "patrick ewing-esque/finesse type of a player" like yao. Some or should i say majority of them are shallow minded individuals with an IQ of -55

Exactly!! I can say the bobcats will win the championship next year, and if a couple of other people say it, will it happen? Does it make the statement correct because people say it? People can say what they want, actual events happening is different. I will say though, if we play like we did last season (which isn't even up to our full potential) we'll make the playoffs for sure. The west has seemed to balance out a little bit this year.

I think if somebody hijacks and crashes the Utah Jazz team plane with them in it, Houston is favorable to get out of the 1st round. Playoffs? Lock. 2nd? Um.
