A public relations colleague of mine is at a community event at Franklin Park in Chicago (Luther's hometown) and met Luther Head and calls me in Washington DC (5 minutes ago) because he knows I'm a huge Rockets fan. I proceed to tell my friend/colleague about the Ron Artest deal that just happened and he goes over to Luther and hands him his cell phone and I tell Luther about my love for the Rockets and the details to the trade. He yells out we are going to win the championship baby! He said "they are going to trade Donte Green - wow- we are going to get that championship!

I can't believe this day -- amazing!

Wait, why is Luther Head so excited? We may win a championship, but he's not going to be here to enjoy it.

What's not to be excited? Head is gonna Darko his way to a ring this year. He's probably loving it.

Was Darko on the active roster that championship or was he on the IR? I think you should say "Head is gonna Scalabrine his way to a ring this year." Sounds like a sketchy Italian swindle. Stick with that.

I now hope Luther is not that unnamed player to be included in the deal. I hope to add him to my PR client roster. This was truly a great day! I can hardly believe how great Daryl Morey is.

Thanks man! I was so excited I had to come share this w/ the folks that love this team as much as I do. I'm pumped up! Who is going to mess w/ us when we have Joey Dorsey & Ron Artest in at the same time w/ Yao and Tracy. W/ Landry/Scola/Chuck Hayes/Mike Harris we have the toughest team in the league.

Don't speak too soon Luther. The next trade may send you packing.

Let's not exaggerate. It was amusing, but it wasn't THAT funny.

He better makes sure he outworks Brooks and Francis come time for the season to start or else he'll never see the court.

i really hate luther head, he chokes every playoff chance that he gets. I was hoping they traded him for this deal instead of bobby jackson..but it shows that teams don't value him much at all that an over the hill bobby jackson is still valued more than him.

It's not about his talent. Bobby Jacksons expiring 6 million dollar contract is his value.

LOL...was this more like "They are trading donte green? GOOD! cause with him we wouldn't win anything!" kind of thing? or more like "Wow if they are willing to trade green then we are deff trying to win a title now!"

and yes the rox are going to compete for a title if everyone stays healthy! YESSSSSS!

It was closer to the later. He was a little surprised they would deal Greene but was excited about a championship run. I said to him get ready to knock down some drive and kick wide open three's and backdoor layup's off of Artest & Dorsey pick's and he said no doubt.

Luther needs to get a secretary to hit his backdoor layups for him. She couldn't not do any better than he does.
