Francis?

Man after this artest trade im all excited. But im just wondering whats up with francis?
Has he recovered and is he working out? I read somewhere that hes been working out but then its fan related post. Also can francis come back and play in a reduced role, im not saying hes going to be old francis but if he can play under control and do what hes suppost to do I could see this year really exciting.
Do u ppl think his chucker and overdribbling habits or gone? I wouldnt mind seeing him posting these stats in limited minutes:

8 ppg (43%, 40%), 3 rpg, 3.5-4 apg, 1.5 TO in 25 minutes of game or something. Also dont forget that he was a great defender under JVG so hopefully he can commit himself into that again.
I know his body is not the same but we dont need those high lights dunks anymore, just a guy that can defend (which he used to be able to)

I'd like to think that he's going to contribute as our backup PG, but experience is telling me to think otherwise. Hopefully Stevie proves me wrong.

I'm still lost on that "good defender" thing. Wasn't it when we had him at PG that Yao was always in foul trouble from dribble penetration? Mayhaps I'm incorrect about the cause, but I'd expect foul trouble from PGs getting to the lane to be the fault of the guy manning the position for 42 mpg.

Hes going to distrupt the distribution of the ball if he plays point. He can score, why not make him artest/tmacs backup.

I'm just wondering if he's going to be healthy next season.

Forget about the big three, if you bring a healthy Steve Francis into the fold, you have the big four! It wasn't that long ago that Francis was a top 5-top 10 PG in the league.

Steve Francis
Tracy McGrady
Ron Artest
Yao Ming

I like Rafer Alston, but he's no Steve Francis at the top of his game.

Francis will NEVER be as he once, hopefully he revives his career... and contribute next season..

(And we're NOT the big 3)

Francis showed that he's still capable of contributing when healthy this past year. He even made a game winner against Phoenix, if I recall correctly. Still, he was walking around gingerly at times, and when he was put in a starting role, things just went bad. If he can play at a fraction of what he used to be, then I'll be happy.

I'm still rooting for him. I think he can be a crucial piece of our roster if his body can handle the grind of an 82 game season.

I just don't see the minutes for him next season, given he's ok health-wise. In fact I don't really see minutes for Head or Brooks either, unless there are injuries. I see Barry getting all the back-up PG minutes while the additional of Artest will leave nothing left at SG. If there are injuries though I think it'll be a complete toss-up of whether Adelman goes with Francis, Head, or Brooks.

I would be SHOCKED if he's a part of the rotation during the regular season. SHOCKED.

Moofs, you know I love you like a girlfriend. That goes without saying.

But you simply MUST quit wasting perfectly good binary code on complicated answers to simple questions.

Will you ever learn, SugarLips?

I will need to do two things first:
- Be less bored
- Start acting on something I've known for years - you can't fix [Kindly phrased: People who don't "think much" about a lot of things]

That or maybe master speaking about things in a manner that is less verbose yet still continues to convey an identical meaning in spite of the fact that I did not try to spell out every involved situation and contingency! : inhale :

If he comes in as a backup PG, I think he either McGrady or Barry should remain on the floor at all times. We need someone that has good ball movement and can handle the ball better on the floor. Francis can bring the ball up, but I don't think its a good idea of letting him run the offense, thats why I'd rather have a good ball handler or play maker like Barry or McGrady. 2nd if he is in shape, I think he can contribute, IMO all I want to see from him is see him going to the hole, just keep attacking, and don't do anything stupid.

In Richard Justice's hide the women and children!the Rockets just traded for Beelzebub! rant was the tidbit Les Alaxander was the guy who pushed for signing Francis. If Francis thought the owner had his back it would go a long way towards explaining why Francis came to camp last yr fat and out of shape.
The Rockets are prob hoping he shows enough that he can be unloaded on some team for a future second, otherwise he'll be bought out.

DinkyBits,
Novak hit a game winner too.

I think Francis is obviously going to be our backup pg. aaron brooks is going like 2- for 10 in shooting in freakin summer league games! lol. Id say aaron brooks is the worst pg in the league. id be surprised if aaron brooks even makes the 12-man roster, much less back up pg.

1. T-Mac
2. Yao
3. Ron Artest
4. Luis Scola
5. Shane Battier
6. Carl Landry
7. Rafer Alston
8. Brent Barry
9. Dikembe
10. Chuck H.
11. Dorsey
12. Luther or Francis or Brooks

id say francis has the edge right now. Luther is the worst player in the league right now, and aaron brooks is the worst pg in the league.

This is only Brooks 2nd season... How can you poosibly have him as the worse PG in the league. Atleast he is in the league with a contract and I do think he will get better be patient and we do not need him that bad anymore, but he will get better.

Lmao, I know how is he the worst PG in the league, this is his 2nd season in the league, and I think he has good potential. He will be on the roster, he was a first round pick in the NBA draft, but as far as getting mins I doubt he gets enough. I have no idea what we are going to do with Head, give him mins as a spot up SG? to just come in an shoot ? I don't know, but after his playoff showings I wouldn't give him anything.

Cool, you added a new point to your Annual Repetitive Summer Everypost Theme, and it's not even October!

What happened to Chuckie Hayes in your hate list, you know, considering he had one of the best defensive ratings in the league last year and has generally been great for us in short minutes?
