The Magiciiaaaannnn!
That'd be awesome, trot Morey out with the starting lineup in a sequined Elvis cape. Vegas style, baby!

You're on the right track.
But does anybody know where to buy a halo?

More details:
So add 2 '08 2nd round picks to that tally as well......Talk about cleaning up.
A second source close to the Kings said second-round draft picks Sean Singletary and Patrick Ewing Jr. could be sent to Houston as a means to keep the Kings under the luxury tax threshold ($71 million). Both players have partially guaranteed contracts that aren't fully guaranteed until the regular season begins. That element of the deal, however, could be handled with different pieces as well.

Re: Offseason Recap so far
He has done an UNBELIEVABLE job turning this team around since he has become our GM. Has he done anything wrong yet? I cant think of anything.
First he traded Juwan Howard to Minnesota for Mike James. Then he realized it could backfire and pawned off James & Wells to the Hornets for Bobby Jackson. Then flipped Bobby Jackson into Ron FREAKIN Artest !!!
Now he can focus on talks with Landry AND (drum roll please) Mutombo !!!!

Re: Offseason Recap so far
Haha Juwan Howard + Bonzi "Donut" Wells + 2 late 1sts for Ron Artest + 2 2nds. (I'm sure I'm missing something minor there, Gerald Green and maybe someone else, but close enough)
Morey 2020.

Re: Offseason Recap so far
He's only been GM two years, but I don't think too many people have had anything bad to say about him, short of some people when he isn't pulling off their latest trade-of-the-month. Very few people have had a bad word to say about anything he's done, it's usually just what he "hasn't" done, and usually then just for a short period of time until he does something vastly better than anything they had in mind.
Morey called Sacramento's bluff at the trade deadline last year. They saw that they were about to get stuck with nil for him by asking too much, knew that the value of our expirings would go up at the trade deadline, and went ahead and got some talented draft picks and a placating ex-fan favorite for it while they could get our stuff for cheaper. Meanwhile we got the guy we apparently wanted. Everyone wins

Re: Offseason Recap so far
Tyronn Lue
Reece Gaines
Juwan Howard
Bob Sura
Charlie Ward
Scott Padgett
Ryan Bowen
Andre Barrett
Maurice Taylor
Jim Jackson
Bostjan Nachbar
Clarence Weatherspoon
for
Rafer Alston
Brent Barry
Shane Battier
Aaron Brooks
Joey Dorsey
Steve Francis
Ron Artest
Chuck Hayes
Luther Head
Carl Landy
Steve Novak
Luis Scola
I think we've done a pretty good job of surrounding Tracy and Yao with talent considering we started from scratch.

Re: Offseason Recap so far
Just a few days ago, people were still complaining about trading Bonzi and James for Jackson even though Morey said repeatedly that Jackson's contract gave them better flexibilty and the chance at acquiring an impact player this year that we didn't have last year due to the lack of that type of contract.
Anybody still made about the Bonzi trade?

2-3 weeks ago endless people complaining about Morey not making any moves (just because there's no news about us making move other than we are not going to offer Landry a contract unless he get more medical attention on his knee)
Morey is actually working and not trying to create a drama on the media that's why there's no news about us
people need to learn the actual deal that go through usually don't surface until the deal is 99% done

Re: Offseason Recap so far
Financial flexibility. Pfff! Right around the trade deadline someone tried to argue with me that it was a stupid notion. Seems like he was saying something about "it's just another way of saying 'cheap' " or something like that. Sure, buddy!
Morey 2020.

The only people who ever complained about that trade have no idea about salary cap implications. We basically traded a commodity that nobody wanted (Bonzi), packaged it with a horrible contract (James), for trade asset (BJax's expiring contract).
Since Morey took over I don't think I have disagreed with any of his moves. He's done exceptional in the draft, at the trading deadline, and the offseason, though it is still a small sample size. The last big blunder I felt was the Gay trade, which wasn't under Morey's watch. Morey has seriously changed this team around since he took over as GM. And the main thing about all of this is that he's made a legit contender whose future looks bright (not bogged down by a single bad contract).
