BG done in chicago?

Post#1 » by PocketRockets » Sun Aug 10, 2008 4:36 pm

This isn't a thread on bringing him here. More of a thread on wtf is he thinking? You don't get your extension last year, play like crap and demand more money or be traded. Most players that demand trades are at least good, but this guy here is highly over-rated, complains if he's not starting, etc. I hope Chicago doesn't re-sign him and let's see how much can get from the bobcats b/c that's the only team that wouldn't mind him being there. =/

Gordon is a good player, streaky at times but a pretty good scorer. I think he needs a change of scenario and go to a team that would make him the 2nd option or something. Bulls have too many young players that are only getting better.

he's a good player
but he doesn't deserve 10M/year
same for Deng

they are no better than Ginobili
they don't deserve to get more than him

Gordon is an average player. I am sorry...he had 1 good NBA season and has been nothing since then. Deserves 6-8 million and no more.

I don't mind taking him for mid-level exception to play off the bench. BTW, do we still have the entire MLE? If Landry is not signing with us?

Also, it's been pointed out before that Ben Gordon is Luther Head Ver.8.0. He's only decent, sure, but some schmuck will probably end up overpaying him.

ahhh, while I agree, you have to look at the way the market is going. I mean biendrins is getting paid more then ten million a year. While I agree that ginobili deserves more, a lot of players are making more then him that don't deserve it. With that being said, I agree. BG has some nerve, first off if your JUST A SCORER and thats what we're going to pay you for then you better bring it on a night to night basis. BG can have 20 in one quarter and 8 the rest of the game. He's not worth the money, these dudes really buy into their own talent, no one is going to give him more then chicago's original offer and if they do their idiots.

Hey, Biedrins is a good player that hustles. A lot of people under-rate the hustlers other than some GM's. You ever work with someone that's always on the go and productive vs. someone that is a little more productive, but is lazy at doing the actual job? Who do you think the boss is gonna value more? Sort of like our Shane, there's no doubt in my mind he would bring the same work ethic and hustle, even if he was playing for the bobcats or hawks.

I don't see what your guys problems with players trying to get the most money possible , or agents trying to get the most for their clients (Buddy Baker).

Hell if I was at their position I would do the same , and you would do same so I don't see what all the complaining is about.

The problem is he's asking for more than he's worth and complaining/pouting about it. For example, you, Shay, aren't going to get a 6 figure salary (no offense, as I have no clue to what your salary/profession is). Now if you went to your boss and demanded a 6 figure salary or ask be let go (semi-equivalent to asking to be traded), I would call you a dumb-ass and so would your boss and then he'd probably fire you. See the problem?

I am still just 18 years old so amybe thats the reason we think different. :D

What I am saying is that pro athlets are different than regualr people like me and you , and if you were in his position you would try to get the most money , even if you don't deserve it just like he is doing.

I am not going into all the him complaining about coming off the bench and stuff , I am just talking about the contract negotiations.

We can't get him, he's asking for too much money. Only a sign and trade would work.

Yea, he's done in Chicago and it was his own doing. I started the thread b/c it seemed like so many people on the Chicago forum were actually backing up this guy, sayin the GMs need to give in to him and give him money.

To all the people saying, "what's wrong with a player trying to make the most he can," there's nothing wrong with that. It's when you don't get the money you "deserve" and stop playing hard and demand trades, that's wrong!! That's very unprofession for so called professional bball players. I'm kind of glad these players are going to Europe, etc b/c at least that way they are taking foreign money and hopefully spending it over here. People always spend their money over there on trips, it's about time to bring some of that back to the good ol' U.S.A.

Gordon is probably done with the Bulls. They are very high on Thabo, with that in mind we do not need him. T-Mac is perfectly fine at SG and he would ask for too much money to be a backup.
