What Does Your Name Mean?

Post#1 » by College Boy » Mon Aug 11, 2008 1:56 pm

I'm sure many posters, other than myself, have interesting stories behind their screen names and possible alternates. Even if they're not interesting, share it anyway. Albeit obvious, I'll start things off. I was starting college at the time I joined RealGm(therefor that was what was important to me at the time), so it only made sense for me to pick College Boy. I didn't really have an alternate, that was the only one I could think of. What's your story?

A MONTY PYTHON FAN?! You just moved up a notch in my fictional non-existent book.

Also I'm fond of Hunter Thompson and was born in '79. So...yeaaaa....

(btw what's the deal with the massively annoyingly large ads on the sides of this forum now, am I the only one seeing them? Am I losing my mind?! I DON'T CARE ABOUT DISH NETWORK, THANKS. GO AWAY).

When I was in HS (and when the internet was just catching on) I was reading a lot of mythological classics: The Iliad, The Oddyssey, and bits of Middle Eastern and Indian mythology to boot.

Appropriately, many of my internet usernames came from a lot of these myths. I think I first joined RealGM under the name Atreus9, but by '04 I had forgotten my password and rejoined as jove9.

Why the 9? It's the "final" number. I was into numbers too.

when francis was traded to the rockets i became a HUGE fan. And when i was a freshman i was on the freshman basketball team. Our coach had to go somewhere so he couldnt coach us on a perticular day so we practiced with the varsity team and we ran a scrimage against them. On that day i was making everything i even crossed a player who just got drafted by the KC cheifs this year. And the varsity coach gave me the Nickname franchise after my favorite player :),and 73 was my football number when i was a senior.

I created this sn originally back in 99 when I was a big wrestling fan, and now I still use it when I sign up for something.

This thread would have been, and still can be, much funnier/funner if people threw their handles out there and invited others to guess their meaning before revealing.

So, guess away.
