Not meaning to troll as a big basketball fan, and a chinese by nationality, but from watching the USA vs China game, does it seems Yao Ming is still injured and might miss a lot of time this upcoming 2008-2009 NBA season.

There was a part of the game where Dwade crashed into him and it seemed like Yao's left leg or foot was injured and throughout the game, Yao seem like he was in pain? Also on the offensive end, I only saw Yao Ming only take jumpshots. Mainly the NBA players are good on the offensive end, but it seems like he couldn't be himself.

Because I hear that stress fractures usually take at least a year to recover, and probably longer for a bigger player like Yao. And also that there were reports back in February saying that if Yao Ming was only at 50%, the chinese officials would still make him play.

It seems like he has started playing again in 5 months, and while media won't talk about this because of the sensitivity of this issue, a media outlet reported that he's pretty much risking his NBA career for this:

I hope i'm really wrong about this but it seems like Yao is playing through some serious injuries because he's definitely not himself.

Somehow a broken knee (from an arbitrary 265 lb lateral impact, to all those "he's injury prone" people out there), turf toe, a broken foot, and a stress fracture equates to:

Articles have flip-flopped back and forth between saying "he's still injured" and "he's still not in game condition".

Save judgment on the situation for the inevitable early preseason halftime / pregame interviews on the subject. There should be at least 2-3 of them, especially when a national game pops up.

i think hes able to play, but not at full strength. If it was the regular season i do not think the Rockets will allow him to play at this condition. Unlike the Chinese national team the Houston Rockets think beyond NOW. They think of his future and his long term health. With that said i do beleive that hes injured but hes able to do the little things at the same time. But hes dafenatly not in NBA playing condition right now!!
