Is there anywhere I can watch or download his 40 pt game in the SL? Also were Rocket fans high on him before he was traded? What do most feel his ceiling/potential is? Thanks.

I liked him a lot. Sure he has some things to work on and is far from a finished product, but he just turned 20 and has talent that you can't teach. It really is up to him. He has every skill to be as good as Rashard Lewis physically, but he could end up a Tim Thomas just as easily if he doesn't work hard and accept coaching. He does need to work on his shot selection, rebounding, ball handling, and defense, but I believe those are all areas in which he can be coached up with ball handling probably being the hardest thing for him to become good at. Some people just can't develop that for some reason no matter how much they work on it. A big part of rebounding and defense are techinique and effort. Shot selection should come around if the coach is doing his job. He takes crazy shots, sit him down. That is what I do.

I really liked his potential.

One thing that bothered me, though (besides what Vator already mentioned) was the fact that he didn't record an assist until like his third game.

i was/ and still am looking forward on how he turns out, he says himself that he'd like to model his game after tmac but most would agree he can be more of a rashard lewis

he has great potential. he doesnt take advantage of his height as much as he should meaning he plays like he's shorter than he actually is (like a 6'6'' player would instead of his 6'10'' self). shot selection NEEDS improvement, decent for blocking for someone his height, ball handling may need some work, is not selfish.

Actually his assist to Maarty Luenen in the closing seconds of the first game(40 point game) is what won the game.

Yeah, I just looked up his stats. I must have read something wrong somewhere. Either way, he only had 5 assists the entire summer league, and only 2 total assists in four games.

Nonetheless, I'm kind of weary of giving him up in the trade because I have an uneasy feeling that the Ron Artest experiment in Houston can only end in disaster.

Things I saw:
His shot is effing good-even when he was missing it was always short or long,but always on-line w/the middle of basket. He already has NBA 3pt range.
Even when he had horrendously bad shooting nights,he was still getting 17-18 pts. He is a scorer who will find a way to get his points.
Doesn't have great court vision. Probably will never be a playmaker for others.

In short,I guess he will be a solid second banana type,who could develope into a 20ppg scorer,but not a player to build a team around. The Rashard Lewis comparison looks dead on.

Thanks for the replies. Thats about what I thought of him. I think having Reggie Theus as his coach is going to help him a lot. He's going to make him a hard worker and really teach him the ins and outs of being a scorer. I dont think he'll get much PT this season because he's not ready to produce at the NBA level but I think he'll be ready after a year or two of hard work.

Of course anything can happen, especially with Artest. But I can tell you for a fact Artest is hungry. Number 1 he wants to win, and 2 this is his contract year so he wants to get paid. The Rockets already have a great supporting cast, better than Boston or LA(Battier,Scola,Barry,Alston,Brooks and possibly Mutombo and Landry). A hungry Artest+motivated Tmac+healthy Yao = Rockets 2009 NBA Champs.

He is going to be a great player in 3 years with the Kings. He reminds me of Rashard Lewis.

Let's not forget though, he could easily be the next Eddie Griffin. Let's just hope that he becomes what Eddie was supposed to be, not what he eventually became.
