Fact or Fiction: Rockets Edition

Post#1 » by A.J. » Sun Aug 31, 2008 10:50 pm

Since it's the offseason and there's nothing significant to talk about, I thought this could be kinda fun. Hopefully you guys have played this before. It should be lots of fun.

I'll start it off

FoF: The Rockets will advance past the first round.

Fact. Artest has proved in Sacremento that his his behavior has improved and his technical fouls have gone down. He also realizes its now Yao and T-Mac's team, not his.

FoF: Yao, T-Mac, and Artest will make the All-Star team.

Fiction. He doesn't score enough points to do that. Now if Ron came off the bench....

Fact or Fiction: Battier will finally win Defensive Player of the Year.

Fact: Rockets have been making moves to clear up some cap space, Landry will be a Houston Rocket by the end of this off season, QUOTE ME!!

FoF: Tracy McGrady will have his best statistical season as a Rocket since 2004-2005.

Fact: McGrady's assists, rebounds, and efficiency should go up, though his scoring will probably stay between 21-24ppg.

FoF: This thread's title should actually be "Wishful Thinking: Rockets Edition" instead of "Fact or Fiction: Rockets Edition" ;)

Ok ok, actual FoF: Either Yao will have his best season yet, scoring-wise, or Scola will score at least 11.5 ppg.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?

Fact: I think Yao will have his best season of his career. (I'm the first to call it), and Scola will average more than 11.5 a game. Our offense is going to be sick.

FoF: Rafer will be in the top 10 in assists this season.

Fiction, McGrady has a better chance at doing that then Alston. And I think Yao will have his best season in terms of playing the whole season (hopefully).

FoF: Joey Dorsey will surprise everyone.

Fiction. Everyone?!? That's a big claim. Dorsey will either suck hard (and surprise some people by how much he sucks) or he'll be decent (and surprise some people that he isn't getting more time). Either way, there will still be a few people who will claim to have ALWAYS known what Dorsey would give us, so they won't be "surprised."

Fact of Fiction: Brent Barry is too old to contribute.

Fiction , assuming he stays healthy.

Fact or Fiction:Yao will play 75+ games next year?
