I expect Morey to match that offer. If he doesnt, oh well. Landry was good while he was here. The Bobcats would be getting a good player.

Hoopsworld is actually right this time..
http://www.nba.com/bobcats/release_landry_080924.htmlCharlotte Bobcats General Manager Rod Higgins announced today that the team has extended an offer sheet to restricted free agent Carl Landry. Per team policy, terms were not disclosed.
In accordance with the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, Landry’s current team, the Houston Rockets, will have seven days to decide whether to match the offer.
“Landry is an emerging NBA talent, as evidenced by his play over the final 42 regular-season games and into the Rockets first-round playoff appearance,” Higgins said. “His ability to play both the power forward and center position will complement our post play.”
Landry brings a lot to our team, and he is definitely worth $3 million a year. Hopefully he didn't get signed for more than that. Scola and Landry deserve to make the same amount of money.

We'll be fine. Dorsey can do what he does and we don't have to worry about a bad knee.

Dorsey still didn't prove nothing at the NBA level .
I like him a lto , especially his defensive potential but we need Landry.
Landry can shoot the midrange , finish around the basket and rebound at a high rate , his defense is ok and will only improve and he is familiar with the offense.
With that said I will get over it if we lose him , but 9 million for 3 years is a good pric for what he brings.

If we match Landry , our salaries will be 69,444,297 for the following players:
Mcgrady
Yao
Artest
Battier
Alston
Scola
Landry
Francis
Head
Hayes
Barry
Reed
Brooks
Thats without:Deke , Dorsey , Harris , Strawberry and also without Jackie Butler which I am not sure if we still need to pay him or not.

i think Landry is overrated on this board because he appeared on ESPN highlight
sure he brings hustle and finished above the rim
but his defense still need work
i still don't know why he won't take another MRI on his knee (maybe trying to hide some thing)

By the way, can we get the topic here changed to
"Bobcats sign Landry to Offer Sheet (9/24) - 7 Days to Match"
"Landry to the Bobcats" sounds like he's already gone.

If the offer sheet is for anywhere near the 3mill/yr 3 year deal that's being reported, you know Morey has to be laughing his butt off. Buddy Baker and Charlotte just saved the Rockets a bunch of money. FYI, Buddy should be updating his client roster by morning. Scratch Carl Landry. He's looking for a new agent. I wonder if it'll take Morey 8 hours or 12 to match the offer? What's the over/under? 10? What a steal. (9mill/3yrs is what mid to late lottery picks get. And Landry's proven himself, unlike rookies.)
Buddy Baker owes Landry about 6 million dollars. He messed this deal up....badly.
Way to go, Morey. You obviously know the 1st rule of negotiations:
"He who speaks first, loses."
Buddy spoke first.
FAIL
**edit** +1 for changing the thread title. May I suggest "Bobcat Finds Wallet, Alexander Sends Flowers".

landry can be a very good player so we better match that offer. he can have luol deng-ish type game. if he decides to expand his offense. dunno why he wouldnt. but if we dont match dorsey and scola can be a good combo at the 4. offense/defense maybe. maybe dorsey decides to be a better player and develop an offensive game... only time will tell but we really should resign landry. morey did say hed match any offer for him, and 9 mil for 3 years for HIM is effing cheap. he can reach all star level in his 4th year if he wants too, and if his knee stays healthy.

Too much Landry love on this board. I am with Max. He can dunk..he can catch. But his finishing is based on his ability to get up. When his knee was bothering him he struggled to do anything around the basket. His layups were blocked b/c he was so short in there. He couldn't get a good shot off. When his knee his healthy he works for us. But we made the mistake of paying for athleticism and little more in Swift a few years ago. Morey isn't gonna screw this up.
And for you guys who think he is like Turiaf...thats very inaccurate. Turiaf can rebound and block shots to go along with that great finishing ability. Landry has no defensive skills but pure hustle. And well..look...a lot of people hustle especially come playoff time. The question is....what can this guy do for us that we can't get elsewhere? IMO...nothing we can't get from Dorsey. I saw enough of him in college to know that much.

For 3 million a year, 3 years Landry is worth the risk.
You already saw what he can do in the playoffs as a rookie , he was a big reason why we won game 3.
He was worse after his injury because of his health but also because Yao's injury , he recieved more attention and it was harder for him to get offensive rebounds and open looks.
9 million for 3 years is a good contract , even if he tunrs out injury prone he will still have positive value and be easy to trade.

landry isnt a sure thing but hes worth the risk, specially for us since hes already on our team. also, he only played one season. its bad that he has knee problems and a rookie but o well, i say take the risk so we can getta 15/7/1stl blk w/ good percentages. luol dengish player.

Dude Landry is not like Luol Deng at all , he can't handle the ball at all and while his mid range jumper is good no way he can shooti off the dribble.
He can't create for him self or for others.
Fox 26 Sports is reporting thats it's a 6 million 2 year deal with a 3rd year team option for 3 million.
EDIT:Chronicle is also reporting that the 3rd year is a team option , this is a no brainer , at worst he will be an expiring contract next season.

HAHAHHA anyone know how much our "fair offer" was? Imma laugh if morey offered 2.7 million and all Baker could get was 3 mil. HAHAHAH what a loser. Landry must be pissed if he's that lil Bi@$h that he turned out to be this summer. I think you guys are right. Landry is way overrated. The only reason there's soooo much homo love for him is b/c he played well a couple of games during our streak. What about rafer? I remember him hitting clutch threes during that stretch also, and yet there's soo much hate for him. Anyways, regardless of what happens, it'll be Yao and Artest that take us to the promise land. Not Bum-knee Landry.
