Seeing how much weight Francis lost and reading quotes like this from Brett Gunning (Dir of Player Development) actually gives me a little hope Francis may ready to compete for some playing time
Steve Francis
"Tell you what, it was impressive; he shot the ball very well. I was only with him one day since he’s obviously been rehabbing. But for his first day back in the gym, he had a lot of makes, let’s put it that way. And you always like to see that for a guy in one of his first days out. But he had a real good attitude, came with a good effort and shot the ball real well."

In one picture, Francis looks a lot like Nick Van Exel. In another, he looks like Sam Cassell.

francis is animated in all those pics. needs to put the pipe down. does look skinnier, skinny enough to be our backup point or maybe burst into his old form and be our startin pg. either way rafer doesnt care cuz he **** SUCKS ****! i keed, but he shouldnt care if the best case scenario happened w/ steve. hed be an elite bench player for sure.
i think luther is lookin chill cuz he prolly wont have to play a single minute this season. rox know that steve is back, tmac and ron are gonna ball, yao will be healthy, and brooks will get a lil bit better, so will scola and landry. so that leaves us w/ luther, hayes, and deke, all who hopefully will see little playing time this season.
of corse luther has to play since hes a good regular season player, but only if we cant handle an undersized 2 guard, or only if he decided to get better.

in the chronicle they said steve lost 15lbs. In those pictures it looks like he's thinner than he's ever been. i really hope his rehab goes well so he can come back. it seems he is a head of schedule already. one of our point guards making a lot of shots? who would have thought

Get use to the bench Luther, you'll be sitting there for a long long time.

T-mac hasnt been able to stay in shape over the summer cos of his knee though? or has he been allowed to work out on it? Im unsure :S

Wasn't everyone saying Mac looked fat last year too, right until someone posted pictures of him in some tight under armor sporting a 6-pack, then overnight "oh man, he lost a lot of weight!!" ?
Sure seems like it....

In the photo Luther has the look of a teenager having to sit at the kid's table.
BTW,in the post on practice clips,Coach Adelman in talking about back-up PG said he plans on pairing Barry and Head,as either could bring up the ball.

Actually, I think T-mac looks pretty strong and cut. I wish he would drop the muscle so that he be as quick as he was with Orlando, but I don't think he looks fat by any means.

Yeah T-Mac doesn't need to be strong , he is not a power player.
But maybe he needs the extra muscle to avoid back injuries or something , (knock on wood) he didn't have those in a while.
It's also good to hear that he is paracticing and looking really good , the shoulder is a non issue imo.
It will just add dis comfort and extra therapy before games , he won't feel it during the game.
If the knee will be 100% , with fewer minutes I hope he won't miss extended time this season.
