Last night I went to the movies with a friend. He was speeding and got pulled over for it. The officer asked my friend for his license and insurance, and he provided it. Then the cop asked me for mine. I pulled out my wallet, but it wasn't there. So the cop went into a speel about how he could arrest me for not producing it even though I wasn't driving. Is that true??? I can't find any information about it on google.

I'd wager the guy was just being a **** and trying to throw some fear into you for whatever reason. Insofar as I know, you are not required to have an ID card on you at all times in this country... yet.

Well, obviously I don't know about America, but in France, you've got to have your ID on you, or else cops can take you and all..I tought it was common in other countries, like US...

I know in other countries, everyone is require to have ID. But in US you are not require to have an ID card, because almost everyone is using the driver license. I don't know if you are require to get an ID card if you don't have a driver license. I guess because I looked like a good honest Chinese man, that's why cops never ask to see my ID/driver license when my friend had been stopped by the cop.
