Even when T-Mac gets healthy, they are going to get the same looks. Those looks are terrible shots IMO even if he hits them. My solution is to run the Triangle MORE, and try to copy the Lakers offense. You don't have to be Kobe Bryant to run the triangle, we should at least try it.

the Triangle requires spacing, good passers and PLAYER MOVEMENT.
The problem w/the current offense is the players don't move. Changing to another offense requiring player movement seems rather pointless if the players won't move.

There is nothing wrong with T-mac's knee, its been sound and every damn article says he needs to just play through it. If the reason why he doesn't move is because of his shoulder, thats a lame excuse.

triangle offense require spacing --> need good 3pts shooter, our supposedly best shooter Barry can't hit anything
triangle offense require ball movement --> we are one of the worst

head, novak, brent and jon barry and yao (for double team purposes) should all be on the floor to run it.
that's insane 3 pt. shooting

At this point in his career, McGrady and triangle offense shouldn't be in the same sentence.

Genius! Come on now we can't even run Adelman's system, why would be able to run the triangle offense. We basically have 3 star players whose strength is in the post and we're just posting up whoever has mismatches. That's our offense right now.

Has anyone else noticed that STEVE FRANCIS used to pass better than Artest does?
I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Okay, Adelman should realize by now that Yao and tmac in the same lineup doesn't work. We've all seen it for years. They probably negate each other and to win we need "synergistic" lineups in there. Yao plays well with Scola and brooks, I think. T-mac plays well with von wafer and landry and other players that actually move on offense. I actually enjoy when the second unit comes in b/c they actually move on the offensive end, but they are sorry and miss easy shots, which is their downfall. IT"S SOOOO ANNOYING to see tmac just dribble and take a bad jump shot, but I can't blame him b/c everyone is just watching him and hoping he hits it. Popovich is decent with matchups/lineups and isn't afraid to pull everyone in the starting lineup off the court when they are playing crappy or start Manu off the bench to give his 2nd stringers more firepower. Adelman needs to sit T-mac or yao earlier. Yao is just getting exhausted running back and forth while tmac jacks it up or when yao is getting most of the touches, tmac gets antsy and starts hogging the ball.
Anyone remember the hornets game when we fed yao the ball a majority of the time at the start of the game? It made that game very easy. I'm just sayin......

PLAYER MOVEMENT is what's needed. People running off screens on the weakside, even if they are not meant to get the ball, sacrificing self for the good of the team. I would be happy to see a role player as one of our top three scorers, because teams are so scared to leave Mac, Artest, and Yao alone. (Scola anyone?) quick passing and hustle. from what I saw of the Dallas game, we were stagnant. Players just standing on the perimeter, no movement. I know this sounds tired, and like I am reciting Rick Adelman word for word, but it is as simple as he says. I saw flashes of brilliance against Dallas, (Something I have seen all season,) but no definitive brilliance in offense.
I have stated before, that to play at the elite NBA level, there is not that much difference between MOST players. Yes, there are standout players that seem to be a head above the rest, but that's all they are, a head above the rest. No one is unstoppable every night, every game.
Look at the way Rip Hamiton moves without the ball, people guarding him must have fit's trying to keep up, he just runs the whole game, cuts to the basket and away as well, moves off screens to create options, or confuse defense. When we go small, that is how we will win. that and players that are considered spot up shooters, (Wafer, Barry, Head) draining three's when the penetration is made. Make teams pick their poison, guard Yao and whatch our Guards tear it up, or leave him alone, and let him torch everyone. Inside/Outside like the glory day's of Hakeem.
I am sure that all of us Armchair fan's know exactly how to cure the Rockets woes, and I really feel that Adelman has the right idea. I was never comfortable with JVG's offensive systems, (Loved the defense though!!!!!!) Adelman has the right idea.
Remember, we are what, three weeks deep so far. It's a long season, I'm not worried until two weeks before A/S Break.

Man, there's nothing more annoying than another "run the triangle" thread when 99% of RealGMers don't actually understand it. The triangle is simply a straight forward strongside set where 2 players, generally 2 wing guys, for a triangle with whoever is in the post. This gives the team multiple positions to make the entry pass in case the defense attempts to overplay the post on one side.
What are the Rockets' problems in all of this???? Well, who plays the post??? It can't be McGrady because the only 2 competent entry passers in uniform right now are he an Alston. If it's Yao then you've got a good option with Artest creating mismatches on a weakside reversal. The problem is this turns McGrady and Alston into spot up shooters. If Artest is the primary post option then Yao looks like an idiot playing the 2 man on the weakside, and McGrady and Alston are still only shooters.
IMO, if Adelman wants to post up Yao he needs to do what JVG did. Jeff used a misdirection offense where Yao was on the weak side when the ball was brought up and there was either an inside screen to free him up to switch sides and recieve the pass or the ball was quickly swung around the perimeter before the defense realized he was going into the low post. If he wants McGrady to post up then bring Yao out to the top of the key and put T-Mac at the elbow where Yao can make the entry or just have Alston do it.

Adelman is kind of stange in that respect. He has his rotation and he wants to stick to it. Simply look at Brent Barry getting minutes in the 4th despite being useless as of late. I'm convinced Shane Battier will be a reserve once he returns and he'll be called upon to stop the opposing team's best 2nd unit scorer and give the Rockets zero offense off the bench because Adelman won't want to change his gameplan.
