WASHINGTON — As expected, Yao Ming went through Friday’s morning shootaround and declared that he was ready to play tonight against the Washington Wizards.

Nearly as predictable, he revealed himself to be weary of the subject of his sore left foot.

"I’m 100 percent," Yao said. "I don’t want to think about it; (I want to) just play the basketball game. I’ll keep that in the memory, not the injuries."

Yao was asked if he was concerned that there could be a repeat of this week’s issues; he left Monday’s game grimacing and was held out of Wednesday’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Yao said he would not even consider that possibility.

"Don’t even worry about it," he said. "I’m 100 percent."

Yao underwent X-rays and a bone scan after leaving Monday’s win in Oklahoma City and was told that there was no structural damage. He was told the screw placed inside his foot after his stress fracture last February was still in place.

He did not play on Wednesday while doctors took another day to consider their conclusions and allow additional specialists to examine the test results.

Rockets athletic trainer Keith Jones said on Thursday that — unless reason for concern that had not been uncovered before were found — Yao would be "good to go."

On Friday, he said no such red flags were raised and that Yao would play tonight.
