Ron Ron's atrocious FG% a concern?

Right now Artest is shooting 35% from the field.
Artest's forte is scoring off the dribble in insolation. Problem? He has a pretty good shot when his feet is set. However, for some inexplicable reason, he likes to shoot off balanced and off the dribble. His handle, lets be honest, is average at best. Because of his shaky handle, he can't create enough space to put up a good shot. As a result his shots are all heavily contested. Tmac does this too but Tmac can create enough separation to launch a good shot, Artest can not. How many times have you seen him take one dribble to the left and then throw up an offbalanced 19 footer only to see it clank off the rim?
Artest is obviously a tremendous defender. But man his offense is ugly....
We already have a subpar shooter in Rafer Alston. Can we afford two starters that shoot less than 40% from the field?

Ron Artest wants points and not turnovers, so he launches up shots that arent good.
But seriously, he should come off the bench for Yao so he can start posting up where he is best.

Seems like his offensive game has no flow whatsoever. Hopefully, he'll be better once he develops more chemistry with the team.

Not getting the space to finish in the paint because of Yao.
He was never that great of a jump shooter but thats the only way he can get a good look. He has to figure it out....Adelman has to figure it out. If Yao wasn't so important to the defense and rebounding I would probably play him 25-30 mins and give Artest, McGrady etc to get some more space around the basket. Probably open up our offensive game.

He'll get it together pretty soon.

Only because he's leading the team in shot attempts. Otherwise, I wouldn't be as worried about it. It'll go up as the season progresses, and his defense makes it easier to be patient with it.

Horrible FG% this year, but he gets it done and he has a very good size for posting up opponent's SF.

Nope, we wouldn't have cared about Luther Head in the playoffs last year if we got out of the first round.

But we dont want our '3rd scorer' to shoot that poor.

Yes, it's a concern. if any player is shooting 35% from the field on a consistent basis taking horrible off balance shots, it's a problem , let alone our third best player.

Artest is really pissing me off, he takes by far the most shots on the team and takes the worst shots I've ever seen. He's horrible at creating his own shot, yet always seems out of control. It's getting to a point that it's ridiculous now, I'd honestly rather have Alston shooting at this point. It's pathetic.

I don't know what Artest sees in McGrady but he needs to stop imitating him.

I don't know what Rockets game some of you guys are watching but it is a big concern. The Rockets are one of the worst offensive teams in the NBA and he is a HUGE reason. Look at his shot selection. F*cking horrible. What makes it even worse is that he is attempting the most shots per game.

The team runs a lot of iso sets for Artest when he's in w/ the 2nd unit, which probably where the majority of his (bad) shots are coming from. Artest isn't known as a great scorer, though he had a good season in Sac. If Artest has a mismatch on him he can take his man (which is a lot more unlikely given T-Mac is out so Artest is drawing the opposing teams best perimeter defender), but running everything through him even w/ the 2nd unit is detrimental. If we were going to run isos all day what was the point of hiring Adelman?

really? look more like he's hogging the ball
3 defenders on him and he still trying to force through them
