Barry out for two weeks; McGrady out for one

Tracy McGrady will miss at least a week of action in order to let his surgically repaired knee heal and will be limited once he returns to the court.
T-Mac met with Dr. James Andrews on Monday and this is the plan they came up with to help alleviate soreness in the knee. If you want to trade for T-Mac, his price should be about as low as it's going to get. The good news is that he doesn't need another surgery, and you can look for Luther Head should start in his place on most nights.

A calf injury will keep Brent Barry sidelined for two weeks.
He has no fantasy value, but his absence should mean even a few more minutes for Luther Head, who should start in the absence of Tracy McGrady over the next 10 days or so.

At least it'll help that feather T-Mac...

Good thing we are playing bad teams this week. (The Clippers, Warriors and Grizzlies)

That means we should be prepared for stinging disappointment as we lose to those bad teams.

i guess better to deal with injuries now then later.

Atleast mcgrady didnt take the advice of this board and play through his aggrevated knee and need another surgery.

For all you people that said the doctors say he can play,,,,,,the msot respected doctor in north american when it comes to these surgeries reccomends he doesnt play for a week and is slowly brought back into playing with a small amount of minutes.

Hopefully in a month his knee is a lot stronger and hes almost at 100%,,,,,meanwhile yao and artest need to step up

Dr. James Andrews (via Wikipedia)

James Andrews is an orthopaedic surgeon from Birmingham, Alabama, widely considered one of the foremost surgeons in the United States for knee, elbow, and shoulder injuries.[1][2][3] He has also been credited with performing some of the earliest arthroscopies.[2] Some of the most common procedures performed by Andrews are Tommy John Surgery and the repair of knee damage, and generally he is considered a top specialist in repairing damaged ligaments.

Andrews was also an athlete himself, winning a Southeastern Conference Championship in polevaulting at Louisiana State University.

In recent years, Tmac's health has been a frustrating issue for fans. But then, this Tmac is not that Tmac. We are looking at an "old" man player.

Could you please tell me who that doctor is... the most respected doctor in North America.
Tell me which doctor said McGrady should sit out 2 games, then later says he needs to sit out for a week. Because that doctor needs to get his license suspended.

We are cursed...but it could have been worst.

I am still very worried that this team can't win without McGrady. Thats a problem...it doesn't matter if we have Orlando McGrady when he comes back. If we can't win without him..like Boston won without KG for a month last year...how good are we really? IMO...not good enough to win the West...probably just good enough to win a first round series. And thats not good enough when you go out and get Artest.

If this season doesn't turn around after the injuries have been patched up then I have lost all faith in this team

Yea like one week is really gonna make a difference. It might be better for the first few games but I can guarantee that he'll re aggravate the damned thing again

What he should have done was sit out the first month until his knee was healed completely. I'm afraid we'll be seeing a 50% Tmac all season long.

Our plan this season

1. get out of the first round
2. hope Kobe get injured

I think TMAC should sit out like one month or even more, until the day that he wont use any excuse like knee, surgery, etc...

I use to think that but from what I have seen...we are very easy to stop offensively when he isn't on the floor b/c Yao can be easily taken out of a game...even moreso that last year.

Whatever McGrady does he can't take a long period of time off. We just aren't a very good team without him especially with Artest shooting like 10% from the field.

T-Mac should sit out until December 22nd , that will give him 22 days on top of the week he already missed.
We are playing bad teams

Wed 03 vs LA Clippers
Fri 05 vs Golden State
Mon 08 @ Memphis
Tue 09 vs Atlanta
Fri 12 @ Golden State
Sat 13 @ LA Clippers
Tue 16 vs Denver
Fri 19 vs Sacramento
Sat 20 @ Minnesota
Mon 22 @ New Jersey

6-4 in that stretch is very reasonable , that will give us a record of 17-11 then hopefully Mcgrady can come back strong and we will try to start racking up wins.
If we do better than six wins , sit him the entire month of december even though we will probably lose these 3 games

Tue 23 @ Cleveland
Fri 26 @ New Orleans
Sat 27 vs Utah 7:30pm

But hopefully we win these 2.
Mon 29 vs Washington
Wed 31 vs Milwaukee

The bottom line is that T-Mac has to comebck only when is knee is 100% , we can't have him playing at half of his abilities the entire year.

T-Mac just want to rest because our team is doing fine without him 100% and the schedule ahead is not as tough as the beginning. If needed you know he will play. Stop complaining. You can always go join the Lakers board. There you got Kobe who's playing with a broken pinkie.

Same story as last season, except this year our record is a lot better than it was after November last year. We'll be fine...
