PREDICTION THREAD (!) Can we keep it up for the next game?

Post#1 » by hackle » Thu Dec 18, 2008 2:21 am

Guys, we beat the Nuggets in a good fashion, great effort from almost everybody, incredible team chemistry. At least for that game, we DELIVERED. Now here comes the *eternal* (hate to say this) question: CAN WE KEEP IT UP FOR THE NEXT GAME?

I reluctantly doubt it. I sincerely hope we win (ugly maybe), but I must say I have bad confidence in this team. I believe some of you feel the same.

So let's hear it from you guys.

I think we win the next game but then struggle against Minnesotta , thats has been the trend so far this season.

we always struggle against Sacramento
at least this time they don't have Artest (who always on fire against us)
i'm more afraid of Minnesota
cause we got no one to stop Al Jefferson
Jefferson+Smith+Gomes that's pretty bulky lineup

Yeah me too..But most likely he is coming back for tomorrow's game and will start, but I wish Adelman lets him come off the bench and let Brooks start. Brooks has played well as the starting PG this season.

Brooks brooks... this kid really learns fast this season. so far he's become my favorite starting PG. he's been making real good decisions on the court. though rafer is still a great passer, but those brainless floaters and threes (sometimes big-hearted though) of rafer's really sickened me. aaron shoots just as many, makes a few more, and that really could make a difference deep in the game... l'd say start aaron and give rafer some more time for shooting practice. 8-)

Well seems we got into one nice little groove for these games. Can't wait to see us take it on the cavs.

I am willing to bet money that if Alston comes back tonight that we not only lose but we don't even get close to scoring 100 points. If Adelman really wanted to win he would be discussing trade scenarios with Morey right now. These last few games have shown us that we are great offensive team when we have 5 guys on the floor that the other team must respect.

I don't have a problem against the Cavs' they have been a great team, but 3 of their 4 losses have come against the top level teams in the league. The other teams they've faced are some of the bottom level seeds, nothing amazing anyway.

I don't have a problem with the Cavs either. They are my second favorite team since they have my favorite player in the NBA. (LeBron, and my favorite player from Houston (Boobie Gibson, even though I hate his HS), So even if we do lose it ain't like we lost to a lower echelon team.

But that's exactly the point. You want to beat the teams that are dominating in the early part of the season, so you can make a clear point that the Rockets are a team that are viable enough to contend.

Make that point to who, and for what reason?

CLE is perfect at home so we're big-time underdogs in this one so don't expect a win. I personally wouldn't be that upset at a loss but we should be able to put up a good showing.

Well to the rest of the league; especially like BaYBaller said, the Cavs' are perfect at home, if we can break that it'd sure make a statement to the rest of the league and critics about us as an overall team.

I don't understood what "making a statement" to the rest of the league matters, really. I like critics shutting up as much as anyone, but they're mostly on ESPN, so another easy solution is to FSN ;) (and avoid Blinebury)

Statements are made in the playoffs. Imo, regular season only offers, ... ... to put it in programming terms, "debugging and testing opportunities".

we have some sort of comprehensive sucking syndrom, which acts like this: when Yao sucks, T-mac sucks with him; When Artest start bricking, T-mac will be bricking too. Good teams dont have this syndrom, when somebody is off, there is always somebody else (this somebody might be a role player, or off bench) stepping up and help fuel the team. Against Cavs, when Yao is not there, the whole rockets team didnt show up, if we played ourselves, we could have won it. OK it's but one loss but we need to realize that we cannot depend on anybody too much, the team should be much more flexible, so when it matters most, no accident will hurt us too badly. Good thing we still have time.
