Carl Landry going to Milwaukee for Villanueva and Lue

Post#1 » by paulpressey25 » Sat Dec 27, 2008 4:14 am

Feel free to start your own thread, but it looks like we are trading you Charlie V. and Lue for Landry and either Head or Barry.

Can one of you post this on Clutch City?

Thx

If Mihm is in the deal I would be kind of happy, we do need a backup C for Yao. But Charlie V is a worse shooter than Landry, but has averaged more points on a bad team. He has good size. Hum?

BS , I don't like this it's not true.

At least they can give us Redd for T-Mac to even it out.

Good point. And Charlie V. fits that bill perfectly. And we also need a big man that can shoot also.

But he plays zero defense and is kind of a ball hog no?

I don't know if I like this , even if we also ship Head and get Mihm , I think Mihm iws done.

He's an interesting fit if true, but he plays no defense, doesn't play in the post and an inefficient/inconsistent player at times. I love Landry's energy and hustle with his finishing around the basket more.

If this trade happens, I think it is a result of Carl not improving much from first year to second. His jump shot has improved a bit but his inside game has gotten worse, and he is not producing as well as he did last year.

I think it's a roll the dice trade. It could turn out good or bad. CV is an inconsistent player, but he can score and rebound and can shoot from distance. He is not a good defender, but Horry was not great on that end either, and Horry did fine holding down PF for the Rockets and then the Lakers winning championships. Perhaps CV can be what Robert Horry was to the championship Rockets, but that's by no means certain.

Hopefully Mihm is still good for 10 minutes of backup duty. He has a big body, some post skill, and a 15 foot jump shot (I think).

Eh. I don't believe it. We're trying to shed contracts and create roster spots. This faux trade accomplishes neither.

But I do like Charlie V.

If he's coming off the bench and we get Mihm also, he wont have to be a stopper on D. He will just have to play his role. Rebound, score, pass. He can do that.

If this is true, this would be Morey's first terrible move and it might haunt us forever. Landry is a beast. Landry has a freaking 18.5 PER and is second in the league in offensive rating behind Chris Paul.

Exactly, We basically trade a super-efficient player for a horrible chucker that will rival Alston for shooting percentages. This deal makes no sense.

From the perspective of the Bucks, who would we prefer in return to match salaries? Brent Barry or Luther Head? I'm reading opinions that Barry is totally washed up and Luther is just plain bad.

Any comments you can provide on either player? Who would you least like the Rockets to part with?

Mihm is also NOT the backup we need for Yao, the dude's been injured for more than a year and has never recovered.
