The Ceiling for a team led by T-Mac and Yao?

What can we really expect from T-Mac and Yao? It seems like there best years are behind them, and they didnt accomplish anything then. T-Mac is broken, and it turns out Pau Gasol was right about Yao.."He's big, dumb, and slow." Actually Gasol was wrong, Ming is also soft as a grape

Tmac has the talent, but he doesnt have the heart or soul.
Yao has the soul, but he doesnt have the heart or talent.
With these two we are not going anywhere. we may come close, but we will never make it.

but this season we have artest, who has much talent, big heart and soul, he may make us a different story. so we'd possibly go deeper into the playoffs. then everything really depends on how it goes in the playoffs. most likely Tmac will show up, so he may still stay. Yao will suck, but he stays anyway. so no championship for this team, but they may have another year or two together.

Yao has the talent just not the drive to be the best

This year, McGrady's talent is good for 16/5/5, Artest's talent is good for 16/5.5/3/1.7stl, while Yao's talent is good for 20/9.7/1.5ast/1.8 blk.

I wonder who is the one who has the most talent? Or, more relevant to the Rockets season, who is the one who is actually producing?

conf finals at best. yao is a great 2nd option, you can ride him for 22/10/2 50+% for about 33-36min a game. tmac, i'm not sure what to think about him anymore. I'm hoping he's saving it for the playoffs, but i'm not holding my breath.

Unfortunately the player that has the ability to make us a contender doesn't care, I guess that's what 21 million will do to you.

A team lead by a prime T-Mac with 2nd half 2006 Yao as the 2nd option would be straight up nasty.

A team with a broken down T-Mac and a timid, "the league knows I'm not a #1 option" Yao and the Rockets are one their way to another 1st round exit. I've said it before. The Rockets had the 1st overall pick the wrong year, and they went after the wrong elite level wing.

GASOL would say Yao is soft because he himself is a soft softies, he runs like a girl.

Wait. A thread by McGrady2Head?

Let me just add the obligatory "McGrady is weak and Head is the worst player in the NBA (besides Aaron Brooks)."

There.

Carry on.

A girl that would drop 30 on you and block all of your shots and make you cry.

Sidenote: would you date that girl? Not Pau, but a girl who was better than you at basketball?

(AJ: Ok, fine. You can pick Pau to date if you want.)

Prime McGrady and have lost three years in the first round. Especially sad the loss to the Mavericks.

I think there is more potential, specially this year, but if McGrady finally gets it together.

Looks like you pick your dates based on their basketball skills? no question you never dated any NBA players     any NBDL players maybe?

seriously, I am just saying Paul plays like a girl, that doesnt mean he wont drop 30 points. Yao can drop 30 points, but i'll still call him soft. What do you think a girl can NOT achieve anything? even as little as dropping 30 points?

pau does remind me of a girl but Yao will never be as good as him. yao is to slow and dumb. he tries hard, but he just doesnt have it. We thought we had the next Kobe and Shaq with T-Mac and Yao, but all we actually got was the next Vince Carter and Rik Smits. We are rollin with the Carter-Rik Smits dynasty lol. i am only laughing right now so I dont cry. its sad that tracy mclazy would get paid 21 million dollars, and not try his hardest. i mean that is a freakin insult

When did Gasol say that?

I dunno what the ceiling is but whatever it is...I don't think we are actually meant to see it. The feeling I get with this team is that we'll never see the full potential. Be it b/c of the constant injuries to key players...honestly has Luther Head missed a game in his career? Or because when we get everyone together we see the true character of this team and its one that desperately needs leadership. Or because the coaching is always good but never great in terms of decision making.

I am thoroughly at that point now where I am realizing that for whatever reason...this team will never live up to the expectations. There is always something with the Rockets. And its a tough situation b/c this team has a bunch of good people on it and I really don't think any of em deserve the type failure they constantly have to live with.

Tmac/Yao combo is good for a 55-win season, then as usual a 1st round playoff exit.
