"(Effort) is something we’re obviously not giving right now," said McGrady, who finished with four points, his third game in single-digit scoring in his past five. "For whatever reason, at both ends of the court, offensively, especially defensively, we’re not executing. We’re missing assignments. It’s all of us."

"I got a little frustrated at times," McGrady said. "It’s kind of hard to get in a groove when you touch the ball once every five minutes. I took four shots in the first half. It’s kind of hard to get in a rhythm. It was frustrated, especially when I know there are some times I feel I could go one-on-one, but our spacing isn’t good. We’re all out of sync."

And notice Yao's comments towards the same question:

"Right now, I think I need to look at myself, see what the problem is," Yao said. "I’m one of the main guys on the team. The team looks to me. You can’t say, ‘We need to make shots.’ I need to point to myself. I need to do better, putting layups in the basket, run back on defense, rebound, help. That’s what I need to do right now."

Well I agree with him on the fact that he isn't getting enough touches especially with Alston coming back into the lineup. He was playing as well as possible this season when Alston was hurt and Brooks was in there. Our offense was hitting a 100 in all of those games.

The problem here though is that McGrady can go get the ball whenever he wants. So while there may not be plays called for him..he can go get the ball and do something. All he does is stand at the 3 point line and pass it to the next guy.

Yea Adelman is at fault...and Alston can't shoot which hurts our spacing. Yao is struggling being the focal point of the offense where all that seems to happen is we dump it down to him. Yea Artest isn't getting the space to operate in the post with Yao on the floor...the thing is though...you never question those guys' effort. They give you a solid effort every night regardless of their situations. McGrady does not. And that where he needs to look at himself and decide what he is gonna do.

How can you expect your teammates to give you the ball when you're not even making an effort to get the ball? He was basically standing at the 3 point line doing nothing. When he did get the ball he did absolutely nothing with it.

All this shows me is T-Mac will make any excuse possible to get the blame off him.

With a deep team he doesnt need to touch the ball everytime down the floor. If he wanted to be the man he should have stayed in Orlando or not want to get an allstar type player.

McGrady needs to shoot more than nine times in a game for us to have success, and a large part of making that happen falls on the coach. These past few games, he's been invisible because players keep force feeding the ball to Yao. Our offense has become so stagnant, it's getting to the point where it's unwatchable.

Rick Adelman, you were brought in to implement your offense, yet all you've done is kill our defense, and worsen Van Gundy's awful offense. He got by off the heart of his players last year, but even then, he was disappointing, since he couldn't figure out how to use his players. He was supposed to find a way to get things rolling with this group, but he's done jack ****.

Ric ain't perfect but you must be watching a different game. Tmac gets the ball and passes it a lot. He could easily take 15-17 shots a game. He doesn't because he will look like a fool if he goes 3-17. No lift, no effort.

This may not be injury related, it may just simply be Tmac wants to move. Reminds of the season he just quit in Orlando.

Don't even begin to blame tmac's struggles on adelman or anyone else on the team. Players on the team force feed the ball into Yao because, even though he's struggled this season as well and has had a subpar season, he puts effort and heart. tmac's had several games where he's just been terrible on effort, and shooting bad jumpers isn't going to help him out of the slump.

I found the quotes ridiculous considering it looked like T-Mac thought he was playing a game of hot potatoe out there with the basketball.

No matter what the offense is, guards can NEVER complain about not getting the ball. They always initiate the offense, and if they have an advantage they can always drive which is the most destructive attack since it breaks down the defense. Only big men can complain about not getting the ball since they rely on the guards to feed them in the post. You never ever hear about elite wings complain about not getting the ball, this is ridiculous.

Most absurd part is T-Mac having the best teammates around him to succeed and he doesn't take the lead to show them how it's done considering he has the most potential to do it and instead sitting back and watching a potential championship team suffer. At Orlando he complains about lack of help and having to do everything. Now he has the help and he's complaining about not being able to do whatever he wants.

It's on Adelman to a certain extent, but if one of your main guys doesn't do what he's supposed to do as a basic basketball player, of course the offense won't run well. Sitting back and sulking instead of communicating is about the worst tactic one can do at this point

T-Mac doesn't deserve more touches that's what I find so ridiculous about his comments... The dude is hella inefficient...
