OH god! this is turning ugly for the Houston Rockets. Must of us are overracting all of this tho.. Calling Mcgrady a Quitter (so sick of the people on clutchfans.net bashing Mcgrady like he is some kind of scrub). Well, the guy is hurt....If you watch the last 2-3 games he was realy trying..He just doesn't get any shots..Yesterday was awful I know but can you blame him? He's starting to realise that nothing has changed...If he doesnt play his Best game we are in trouble.... Been 10 years and nothing has changed..
Tmac needs shots to get in the groove...he needs a lot more touches. I blame R.A. We would never have saw this with JVG...NEVER. Passing to Yao every god damn play is (Please Use More Appropriate Word)..PLEASE STOP IT. I think Mcgrady is mad and just stopped looking for his shot and he just stands around the 3 point line to pass to the open guy. Tmac is far from done...He is still recovering and will be ready to go soon.. I think it is time for him to ask for a trade because he just can't play as the number 2 or third option like he is right now. He becomes lazy and can't stay agressive all game..We saw it last year(in the playoffs) he can turn it on..
Unless he stars chucking 20 shots per night...he is done in this league.. Trade him or change the Offense for the Rockets because he just doesn't care about Defence if he is not red hot. He is a cry baby... I'm pretty sure a lot of teams would be happy to take a risk with that guy.
but guess what.. I still belive we can get it done by the end of the year

Standing at the three point line waiting on the ball? Why not reward some people who are actually trying (Yao) He gets beat up and he keeps posting which is hard work and Im not even a big fan of Yao.

I do not understand can't play as the #2 or #3 option... When healthy he is #1 option. I do not think we have a set offense either... The thing about Tracy is that he gives up too easily, no matter how much you are done or upset you shouldnt give up. I am a big McGrady fan but he deserves this criticism.

Well, to be fair... He did that last night and he does deserve the bashing for yesterday...but the other games he was just playing to be a facilator...and yes he was driving and then passing

It's still too early for PANAC. We just have a bunch of drama queens on this board. I do think McGrady should sit and rest that knee, though. If he can't play, then he's only hurting the team by being out there.
We have plenty of games to fix this mess. I just hope our dufus of a coach makes the necessary adjustments for us to legitimately contend.

I don't think at all Adelman is the problem , he was able to get us 55 wins last year with Yao out half a season and also Mcgrady missing time , and in the playoffs we won 2 games and had a chance in 3 of the 4 losses without Yao and Rafer Alston.
The problem is that Mcgrady needs to be Mcgrady again , we need him to be like he was last year.
And we need to get Artest and Battier helathy so we can have some continuty and get some chemistry going , there is a reason that we have looked terrible in the few games we had a full roster.
But the main problem is that we need to get T-Mac healthy and playing like he cares.
Off course we will be out of sync , he is in and out of the lineup everynight , we have no chemistry on the basketball court.

McGrady is a rhythm player. Healthy or not, he's never going to be able to establish a good rhythm with the offense being run solely through Yao. It's the coaches job to keep his star players happy and involved, and he hasn't done that. If he wasn't a complete moron, he'd put McGrady in the post, and force him to take advantage of that length.

thanks god i'm not alone that thinks this way.... I don't blame him for not trying that hard.. he is used to shooting 20-30 times per games like kobe and bron bron...
R.A is a stupid coach... All of you guys bashing him are dumb.. If i was Mcgrady and I was a superstar, I would be very mad.. and he is playing hurt...he needs touches....

Adelman's forcing the team to pound the ball to Yao every single possession, and it's pissing Tracy off. I don't care what anyone says, he was sending a message last night. He can still play, but the offense being run exclusively through Yao is hurting his game. This team is at it's best when McGrady is running things by scoring and playmaking. When Yao gets the ball, the entire team just stands around watching him. It's hurting everyone, not just McGrady.
Has anyone ever considered why the starters suck so bad, and the second unit plays so well? It's simple. No Yao. There's a reason that we play better without him. The ball actually moves, and everyone is involved.

LOL....some of you guys are acting like Yao was playing terrific last night, and Rafer, Brooks, Barry, Head, and Landry were nailing every jump shot. Blame him---yes, but hes injured. I saw him live a couple of days ago, and that knee is really hurting him; he is taking some pretty crappy shots, but they look god awful. All hes done is hes worn out his welcome, nothing more.
I'm withj Iggy on this one too, I agree that Rafer has been taken away touches from T-Mac, you've got to let McGrady be the facilitator on the offensive end, Brooks did a great job of doing that. Come on guys, this is a team game, McGrady in or out we are almost OUT of the playoffs, lets hope the Houston Rockets turn this **** around.

http://www.82games.com/0809/0809HOU.HTM+/- while Yao is on the court: +9.7, Yao off: -8.9
http://www.82games.com/0809/08HOU13.HTMPoints per 100 possessions, Yao on: 111.6; Yao off: 104.1
eFG% Yao on: 49.6%, Yao off: 46.6%
You are simply wrong. Without Yao on the court the Rockets play MUCH MUCH worse, and I'm not even putting up the numbers for defense which are even more striking.

Well the +/- thing shouldn't be taken that much into account. Obviously when Yao is on the court they will play better, but for most of the season Chuck Hayes was playing as the back up center, so its kind of inflated. But nonetheless Yao is always going to make the team play better.

The Rockets score 7 more points per 100 possessions with Yao on versus Yao off, and shoot 3 percentage points better from the field.
Offense runs better with Yao off the court? I think not. I don't care how nice it looks or the ball moves, the name of the game is to put the ball in the basket at an efficient percentage as possible and with Yao on the court the team does that much better than when Yao is not.
I'm not even putting up the defensive numbers that show the Rockets are a complete sieve defensively with Yao off the court and a strong defensive team with Yao on.

If this doesn't get resolved on a positive level; McGrady might put a dagger in the Rockets chances the next 2 years

I think both sides are at fault.
Coming into the regular season, Tracy looked really out of shape. Yes, he was coming off of off-season surgery and can't really do any weight lifting but his body has really changed over the last 4 seasons.
2004

vs. Hornets Dec. 26, 2008

It also looks like a more a mental thing with McGrady. I don't know if he's afraid of re-injuring his knee, but he sometimes looks hesitant.
I agree with T-Wack that he's not been able to get into the flow of the offense, and that's coaching.
I don't like how he's going about it though. Where Yao says he needs to work on his game, T-Mac blames the lack of shots.
We shouldn't be ready to panic, but the inconsistent lineups/rotation is a bit frustrating. We need to see what this team can do in April and May, but leading up to those months are troubling.
If we can't put together a consistent lineup and get healthy by mid-February, then maybe we start worrying about where this team will be when playoff time rolls around.

If McGrady's injured, which I doubt he is, it's his fault that he didn't take any measures to prevent the injury from reoccurring. Again, I think it's ridiculously absurd that some of you are still trying to protect McGrady. We, the members of the Rockets RealGM, ha've been fairly patient and reasonable with Tracy. If you McGrady supporters can't even stomach our criticism, then I think you guys are not being too rational. Clutchfans, chron, and even the game announcers have every right to call McGrady out at this point. For a guy who's was as skilled as Kobe and makes 20 million dollars this season, there's absolutely no reason for him to only put up 4 points and 2 assists. Even an injured ex-NBA player can put up those numbers when given a considerable amount of minutes. Whatever he's doing right now it's just unacceptable.
How dare does he ask for more touches when he's shooting at 39%, plays 0 defense, and doesn't even care to hustle up and down the court? That's just as selfish as Mike James asking for a raise. McGrady probably feels disrespected by the team but if he wants respect, he needs to take some initiatives to earn that respect. No other way around it.
What McGrady needs right now is a harsh wake-up call. The media, fans, and even the Rockets organization have been too protective of him. Dude needs to get blasted from all angles until he realizes that he doesn't deserve to be the focal point of this team when he's putting up Jerome James' numbers.
People call him a scrub because he's playing like a scrub. People, get to your senses.
EDIT: I'm not saying we need more negativity on this board, but some these 'supportive' arguments just don't fly right now.

I agree with pretty much everything you said , what he is doing right now is embarassing.
I still think he will turn it around and can be what he was last season but with eveyr game he continues to play like a scrub and more importantly without effort Iam losing optimism.
I hope he doesn'tget selected to the all star game by the fans , the coaches surely won't select him so maybe not being an allstar for 2 years in a row + everybody turning on you will make him play and work harder.

Oh yeah, you mean like right now? Yeah, we play soooo much better when he's on the court. You need to look at the games, not the box scores.

Yea and if Yao weren't on the court, we'd be rolling out the red carpet for everyone to score in the paint. Its obvious you're a yao hater, just deal with it.
