[CF]Tmac stabs Yao in the back?

"This is the fifth season Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming have played together in Houston, so you'd think by now that everyone would be comfortable with their roles. Apparently not. McGrady has been privately complaining to friends in recent days about Yao taking too many shots and not being tough enough. Like McGrady has never been accused of either."

I saw this posted on CF, and thought it should be discussed with cool minds here.

I know there's been a lot of Tmac bashing lately, but this news seems like its just completely made up BS. In recent games, Yao has been getting fewer touches. The times that Tmac plays on the floor, I see him pass to Yao plenty of times and not freeze him out as Alston has done.

Seems like the writer just took the quote of Tmac not getting enough shots and made up stuff about Yao to go along with it to cause drama.

edit: fixed the link

Maybe McGrady would think this but I doubt he would say anything about it let alone say it to someone that would leak it considering his state of affairs right now. I don't think even McGrady would put his foot in his mouth like this.

If there is any truth about this, I hope Tmac wasn't serious.

Ever since Tmac was on this Team, he lead in FG attempts.

Lastly saying Yao isn't tough is a joke coming from another cupcake. We already know both Yao and Tmac are soft in their own ways. But this coming from Tmac is a joke.

I saw it this morning, didn't post it because I felt it was BS. There was no actual source specified, it's from the New York Daily News, not the chronicle, and the fact that McGrady tries to position and re-post Yao more than anyone else on this team. Even if he did feel this way (which would be obnoxious and utterly (Please Use More Appropriate Word)), then I HIGHLY doubt he'd go out and tell someone that's apparently linked with the media.

I think it's the general consensus to come to conclusions like that (for media/newspaper outlets). McGrady recently did complain about a lack of touches, teammates are getting disgruntled, it seems like McGrady is missing every other game (which he is) and most importantly the Rockets are underperforming and with McGrady's lack of heart or elite play, the blame gets put on McGrady, and rightfully so, but knowing the media, they'd try to stretch out further than it really is, and try to fabricate some of the news to create headlines.

Maybe I'm wrong and McGrady did complain about Yao taking too many shots, if he did, he should be traded immediately, because that's hilarious and beyond stupid. But I doubt it, if he comes back, we start winning, then all of this talk suddenly goes away. Winning cures everything.

Completely agree with your sentiments, I highly doubt theres any truth to this, BUT on the slight chance that this is true, he really is a headcase and needs to be traded asap.

The link doesn't work for me.

I doubt this is true. McGrady might have complained about his lack of touches, but previously, he said that he doesn't mind deferring to his fellow all-star teammate. No one should be that challenged to complain about Yao's 13 FGA.

I doubt this is true, surely T-Mac is smarter than this

yao is very soft, but so is t-mac. in my opinion the 3 softest players in the league are #1 dirk, #2 yao, #3 t-mac

I think his comment about lack of touches was more towards raefor not creating shots for teamates. Raefor commented that the team wasnt on the same page it seemed more like him and mcgrady werent on the right page. I highly doubt tmac would complain about not getting enough shots because he obviously knows hes played horrible this season. Hes frusterated that he sucks right now but i dont think hes complaining about yaos amount of touches because hes usually the one that repositions yao and even passes up shots to get him the ball. Article on him complaining about that just makes no sense

Sounds fishy... does T-Mac privately complain about anything? The dude is like a leaky facet when he has a microphone in front of him.

Well if Tmac really said it, it's not completely BS at all. it makes certain type of sense. Yao is taking many shots, and we are all cool with it, he shoots the best FG in the team, he deserves more shots, so he can never take too many shots.
then Yao being soft, i agree with tmac or whoever on this one. Yao needs to toughen up down the stretch.
However, tmac should really have looked in the mirror before he said something like that, most of his games have been horrible.

The best part is where the "reporter" knows what McGrady is saying to his friends in private.

If tmac wasn't playing like string beans right now he would get more shots

IMO Yao should be taking 15-20 shots per game minimum. it's simple basketball. The closer you are to the basket, the better chance you have of making the shot. Guards always complain that big men take too many shots, and vice-versa. sounds like a lot of B/S to me!

I heard he's planning to 'Tonya Harding' Yao the next time he shoots more than five shots. Yao would probably cry and scream "Why!?" just like Nancy Kerrigan, too. But all that will do is reaffirm his softness.
