Feigen wrote:Hi Jon,

Do you have any comments about Fran's latest blog on McGrady? I am sure you've read it.

Thanks.

(I think they could trade McGrady right now if they were willing to take back a long, stupid contract. I don't think that's going to change. -- Jonathan)

While I wouldn't rule out trading McGrady or Artest, it doesn't seem overly likely... yet... this season.

As a side note, does this comparison of the chronicle writers seem about right?

- Blinebury appeals to emotion and fanaticism, then work backwards. Also, he's a craptastic writer in general.
- Feigen works from a technical/functional/realism standpoint
- Justice either stirs the pot or jumps the bandwagon
- Ren has some decent in-game and roster analysis, but isn't usually too in-depth
- Solomon is very hit and miss, usually miss, but doesn't tend to have any specific themes or patterns

It's fun watching Feigen and Blinebury duke it out all the time. There's no chance the editors didn't set them up that way intentionally. Oddly the divide and sticking points tends to pretty well mirror the ones between our groups of fans.

...

2 days ago I complain about the negativity on the boards, today I post a set of articles that will no doubt bring out the same set of opinions that suck so greatly (if anyone responds). Smart move, moofs.

...

Go Wafer!!!!

It is how all trades are, nothing is out of the realm of possibility provided HOU gets enough back. There's no point trading for expirings because their contracts are already expiring this or next year (besides we're still thick in the playoff hunt). And the only way we can get some young talent back is from a team who needs a veteran star who pushes them over the hump but with T-Mac and Artest injured that rules that possibility out. HOU management can't really do anything but hold the status quo until the situation presents itself.

As for the Chronicle writers' blogs I don't even read them anymore except for Feigen's on occassion because he sometimes includes info not included in the main articles. Blinebury is sensationalism at it's worst (because he's a bad writer), Justice just chimes in when something big happens and usually adds nothing of value, and Solomon... well I'm not even sure this guy follows the Rockets closely. Ren is just a fan blogger so you don't expect much, but I've seen forum posters who have better analysis than he does.

Mcgrady will not be traded unless someone is stupid enough to offer value for him and nobody won't.

Mcgrady will get at least the rest of this year and also next year depending on what happens this year to try and make something , if he fails qwe just let him expire.

Feigen makes the most sense, but I think Blinebury might be right about the team giving up on Tracy, which is awful news. I'm inclined to let tracy stay unless an amazing deal comes along, but I've been eyeing Joe Johnson for a couple of years and i don't want to lose the money to get him, as both contracts come up the same time. On top of being able to do everything T-mac can do, with better d, he looks just like andre johnson. Yeah, i'm simple, so what?

Who would want T-Mac? We're stuck with him.

Unless someone wants to get rid of someone desperately I'd say we are stuck with t-mac until his contract is expiring

For some odd feeling, the way the bulls are sucking it up...I see us trading mac to them. Trust me, whoever we get for T-mac, we wouldn't be happy. Somebody will find a way to spin it into a bad trade. I just hope we trade him east b/c I know he'd find a way to burn us when we play. There's no denying he can still ball when he wants to, mentally.

There isn't going to be a trade IMHO. It's not going to happen, Fran Blinebury has been a McGrady hater for the longest time; you've got to conclude that if he states McGrady is being traded, than he isn't.

With summer '10 in mind, I refuse to believe that Morey will make any trade that will put us in disadvantage of getting a star player that off-season.

No way someone can make it bad if its Rose... Ok back to reality, No trade will be going down for anyone on the Bulls. No one can do ANYTHING for the Rockets expect for Rose, which is not happening.

 We'd be better off keeping him another year and signing an awesome star in the summer of 2010, not worth anything.

McGrady isn't even an expiring contract. Who would want him. Well, he does expire in 2010 I believe he would give a team a big chunk of caproom for that free agent class. The problem there is we'd be dealing with a crappy team.

As for the Chronicle writers, well they suck. I met John P. Lopez at Kingwood Athletic Club once, and he argued with me about Yao for 10 minutes about the Rockets before they got on the court, and he couldn't play a lick, and I gave him a ton of ****. I have my own opinions on basketball, and they're every bit is in depth and expert as those of writers so who cares what they write.

Besides, you have a guy who's first name is Fran. Why would anyone even read what he has to say?

Trading one injury prone player for another, doesn't make sense for either team.

Lol, Does Toronto not understand that the reason we would want to trade t-mac is because of injuries?

 Why not name the guy "Horatio Algerbottom" as long as you're shooting for a stupid-sounding name?

If we get to keep Artest, and we'll still have Yao on the books (I just don't see any way, we could let him go financially). There's no way we'd get anybody good in 2010. So if we were smart, we'd trade T-mac away the same way we got Artest. One year, little liability. A team on the cusp would trade something for him, but like I said we'd get trash back. I just want 2 role players for him at this point, a G and a F/C. That's way better than a disgruntled/mentally injuried T-mac.

WTH, it's too early for these talks anyways, a trade, if it happens, won't happen til the season's over and we do something with Artest.
