Heartbreaking loss, but this game showed something..

Glancing throughout the game, you can easily say that this game was the one where they played their hearts out. Landry was going after every miss shot, trying to rebound all of his own mistakes. Yao was pounding the boards, playing great defense, and playing with full intensity, Von Wafer didn't let the name he was going up against fool him, and was phenomenal, and although it would have looked sweet if the game was won in overtime, you can't question all of these guys efforts and hard work, they came out against the best team in the league and played with full force and intensity; and you've got to give them a hand for that, because we had the lead throughout the entire team. This game also shows that guys like McGrady and Artest would have been perfect down that stretch, hope there is no drama between anyone in the locker room, and when they come back, we are better than ever!
Heartbreaking loss to take in, but they played their asses off against the best team in the league, and if anyone watched the game they'd know what I'm exactly talking about.

It showed me that we need a new starting point guard.

No moral victory from me, we played well, but still haven't found a way to close games. It's come to the point that if it's a close game, it's almost guaranteed we lose, especially when we're facing Kobe Bryant.
But yeah, hopefully our play today can go onto into the upcoming games. And when McGrady/Artest come back, they can buy into that system.

Didn't expect a win. I dunno if there are any 'heartbreaking' losses in January. I think Rafer continues to let this team down even when everyone else plays their heart out he makes plays to make you lose.
And I think we have had many performances like this and haven't been able to carry them over to games against lesser teams.

No such thing as a morale victory...
We played damn good, but the way we played in the final minutes was horrible in the sense that we started avoiding what was working for us all game.

The one thing that stood out in this game is Rafer Alston needs to be traded

this organization + morey have made some great moves, but i ve been blabbering about rafer for 3 yrs now. Anything AB could have done with Rafer's time couldn't have been worse.

It shows that at something less than full strength the Rockets can give the Lakers a tough game when they're hitting on all cylinders. Unfortunately, they're supposed to be a contender, and moral victories are not what they need.

I didn't really expect a win either, great effort though. We have lost like 7 games like this, It sucks, but hey, all I care about is the playoffs.

Thing is that in the playoffs there will be close games. That is why we need to learn how to close out games in the regular season.. Obviously what we are doing is not working so we need to run something different or try to improve what we are doing now. Of course when Tracy and Ron gets back it should improve, but not knowing when one will play makes it difficult

Rockets have been the only team that actually knows how to play hard despite being depleted. Defense i guess, it will always keeps you in games no water how underweight you are.
We enjoy the games with rockets it always goes down to the wire with either Battier or Kobe hitting the game winner or someone choking.

Though I hate them, Jazz has been quite shorthanded this year while still finding ways to win... Always respect that.

All I have to say is that the Lakers are beatable. It's such a damn shame that the rest of the league think otherwise and continue to hide their tails between their legs.

If they weren't beatable then they'd have a perfect record.
If this game showed anything, its that the Rockets can still play a near perfect game but still lose.

I think people need to take it easy on extrapolating the LA's strength from this game. It was obvious they were not playing any defense at all. I mean their defense is not great by any stretch but they weren't even trying out there.
What you can extrapolate is that the team is responding to now knowing the status of T-Mac and Artest being out for a period of time, and that we can still play without either of them on the court. While it's hard to judge how potent an offense we really have due to the opposing team not playing any D, you could at least see the effort to moving the ball, running the sets, and finding the open man.

Laker fan here.
All I know is that you guys played a hell of a game.
Props on the heart and the will to win of this team, it did come down to who made the last shot at the end.
Kobe came through with a clutch three, but other than that it was anybodies game.
I loved how agressive Von Wafer was, kids got game.
You guys are a strong team with heart.
I think if you guys stay healthy and stay away from injuries to key players, you guys are the team that would give LA a matchup problems.
Again hell of a game and props.
I do realize you guys lost, but you guys were missing two key starters, and you guys gave us a hell of a battle.

Try again. We didn't have Artest and McGrady, and moreover, it was 5 on 8.
