Can you folks talk the Mehmet Okur and Yao Ming matchup on both end of the floor?
Okur is not a post player. He shoots 3pointers pretty good. How will you folks defend him?

Yao will be on Milsap and Scola on Okur , the same like we did with Boozer.

This is a really tough game , they are only missing Boozer and we are missing both T-Mac and Artest , also they are looking to get some wins and go up in the standings.

We will need to bring our A game to win , and it will be nice if Yao could finally dominate Okur for once.

Okur usually does a pretty good job on Yao, step it up big man. Also, lets see if Brooks can finally break his shooting slump here because if Alston suddenly goes cold, we have no chance.

hopefully Yao will get angry WHEN they call him for a silly foul.. then he will get a tech then he will get angry and be very aggressive. like in the 4th qtr of the nuggets game..

I tought Brooks was pretty good against Denver .
A winnable game . Difficult , yes , but if we could win it , it would give us some momentum after the win against Denver.

Alston did a good job against Deron in the PO's last year (at least, comparatively to our other PGs). HOpefully he can contest at least.

The 7gm series two seasons ago is the last time I remember Yao against Okur. I think last season due to injuries/illness to both they missed each other in the regular season. Would love to see Yao DESTROY Okur now that he's seemingly rounding back into physical and hoops form.

Shame Boozer isn't playing. Only cause I hate him so much (oh, and also cause he's a total defensive liability and Scola would kill him, though Milsap might also be for all I know).

Millsap's battling injury I think, but will probably play.

It's a game we can win, but we have to stop Deron, whilst our guards have to keep up with their recent output.

Okur is a nightmare matchup against Yao.

Actually any 3 point shooting 7 foot stiff is a nightmare for Yao. Look at the Toronto game against Andrea Bustiani. The guy was ready to go back to Europe but Yao pretty much extended his NBA career.

I agree with Shay. Yao will be on Millsap and Scola on Okur. Scola will have to pay close attention to their pick and rolls and tighten up the perimeter.

That guy has actually been playing decent basketball as of late. Even prior to his good game against Yao, it seemed like the light went on for him or something. That said, you make a valid point.

Keys:

1. Yao must play with energy, shut down Millsap and keep him off the boards, and stop penetration/plug up the paint (this he did effectively last time).

2. He must also dominate offensively; he must force the Jazz to double team him so that others can get going. We don't have Artest and McGrady who can create their own offense; the other guys need Yao to draw attention so they can score effectively. This he did NOT do last time.

3. Guys must hit open shots, this goes without saying for every game but for some reason this always fails us against the Jazz.

wrong team, homeslice. youre thinking of toronto. thats a pretty safe assumption you made there. i say if we score more than utah, we'll win. if not, we wont.

No, No, No You got it wrong, I was just making a remark about a previous post talking about Barnagni how he was tourching Yao. Lol I should have quoted it.

IMO i think Millsap will be too aggressive attacking the basket and draw fouls on Yao
should put Scola on Millsap, Battier on Okur, and put Yao on Miles

I really hope our guys beat Jazz to death. But i don't think we can do that without Tmac & Artest
