The Rockets are playing great now. They are playing defense and hustling out there. It seems like this team has really taken on a blue-collar identity without McGrady. Von Wafer comes off the bench and he can D up, shoot from the outside, and you can count him in for a dunk or two every night as well. Lowry has shown more in his 7 games than Head has his whole career with the Rockets. The dude is small but he's rugged and feisty. Artest, despite his terrible shot selection at times, has been moving without the ball unlike McGrady, who usually just stood around at the 3 pt line until he got it or jogged into position so that he could get the ball. He's also been lights out from 3. Not to mention he's a ball hawk as well. Scola and Battier have been their usual selves and are great glue guys to have on any team. Yao has been a rock and I think Yao's game fits with the rest of the team. Throw him the ball down low and he's got shooters he can pass it to - Brooks, Battier, Artest, and Wafer all are deep threats. Landry seems like he's recovered and is just fine coming off the bench. Him, Lowry, and Wafer can turn out to be a pretty good bench depending on how well Lowry can play for the rest of the season. You guys are third place in the West right now and 2 games behind the Spurs...it seems like anything could happen and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Rockets not only make it out of the first, but out of the second as well. Thanks for the kind words, and I completely agree with you. This team right now kind of reminds me of the championship days for some reason. If only Yao was Hakeem...

we are much better without t-crack, he is the biggest cancer in nba history. the houston management would do a big mistake of not letting him go next year

I wouldnt go as far as calling him a cancer. When you think of cancer, you think more of the stephons of the league.

Tmac commanded the ball a lot and took a large volume of shots when he isn't really what I consider a great shooter due to his shot selection. You could say the same about Ron. When they are set though they are dead on like many players in the league. We're doing better because the 20 or so shots that Tmac would take is given to set shooters like AB, Shane, Wafer hence the uptick in offensive production. IF tmac only took set shots and played some kind of defense then there's no doubt we'd be a championship team, but he chooses to take "heat-check" threes and hog the ball (stalling the offense). =/

If he was the T-Mac of 4 years ago and prior, then the Rockets would be on par with the Lakers. He was lethal from anywhere on the floor and varied it up. Now, he's just an inefficient jump shooter. It's good to see the ball moving around and players constantly in motion on offense. And you're right in pointing out that the shooters are getting McGrady's share of offense which is better than just giving it to Yao and Artest. Overall, the team has been more efficient in generating points on offense and the fact that they're not over relying on Yao and Artest to carry them will serve them well in the long run, especially in the playoffs.
