Yao for Bosh straight up

Post#1 » by josecalderon » Sat Mar 14, 2009 3:11 am

Would you do it?

Yao goes to team international and plays in a massive Chinese market.

Bosh returns home to Texas and Rockets become a run n gun exciting team.

We wouldn't do it, we've built our team around Yao, we feel he's the better player, and obviously far more marketable when talking about global impact and recognition.

Joke, Bosh the sissy for Yao Ming? Are you joking? You guys have the full roster in a extremely weak division and still manage to be -20 plus games? Are you joking, get the hell out of here now, I mean it.

Counter Offer

Bosh + 10 first round picks in the next 10 years for Tmac

Does that help? Both of them will be away from NBA championship ring.
If you just expect our team to be a run n gun exciting team, why not trade Yao for Amare Stoudemire by tripartite transaction?

Look dude, it's clear you don't watch much bball outside of the Raptors, Bosh is a good player, and is getting better, but the Raptors with such high expectations coming into the season have looked like one of the worst teams in the league. Yao despite all the injuries to the team, we're ranked 3rd in the Western Conference. It's true we have a better roster, but not by a margin of 20-22 games. Yao scores generally around the same, but on more efficient shooting, while being our defensive anchor, something Bosh just isn't. Gimme the better player on both ends of the floor.

And you seem to be one of those stereotypical fans that watch the NBA, they look at 7"6 and think they should dominate. Let me ask you this, why hasn't every player near Yao's height put up 30/15? Not even Shaq in his utmost prime put up 30/15 for a season average (though he's been close), and he's one of the top 4-5 C's to have ever played the game. Many believe if Yao was slightly shorter, but with better athleticism or quickness, he'd be a generally better player. There's so much more to the game than height.

And as towards the injuries, they're legitimate injuries that he needed surgery on, it's not a matter of being a sissy, though I agree with the notion that he could be "tougher." But Bosh is no more less a "sissy," if were comparing them in that regard.

josecalderon,
You misunderstood Bosh. He said he wanted to play w/a center, not be traded for one.
Besides in 2010,the Rockets will be enough under cap to sign Bosh.

You'll get less confrontational and trolling type responses if you scope out your thoughts for a major trade better in the future. Try imagining two GMs, two all stars, and two player agents sitting down to a conference call with the conversation going like this:

Toronto GM: "Yeah, we totally have an international market here."
Houston GM: "Bosh was born in Dallas and can run."
Toronto GM: "Whoa really? How about we trade Yao for Bosh? They're both soft, and with that other stuff, it sounds like a perfect fit!"
Houston GM: "Done. Dude, when you're as brilliant as this, GM'ing is easy."

(it's a goofy trade anyway, so you'd have probably talked yourself out of it by the time you finished typing it, if you ever stepped back and started weighing what you typed for both teams)

edit: On second thought, if you added some sexual harassment toward secretaries in there, it probably would have sounded like a trade between Mike Dunleavy and Isaiah Thomas.
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

I am so amazed by the stupidity of this idea, that I can't even gather my thoughts to make a witty riposte`

Yes, Yao is prone to injury, but he is hauling a massive frame up and down the court. Imagine if a building could walk, in fact, remember Ghostbusters two, when they make the Statue of Liberty walk. they were concerned that the statue would vibrate apart, (then Egon makes a witty remark about Nike not making a pair of shoes big enough to fit the statue of liberty.) it's kinda like that for Yao.

Then again, Nike do make caps that fit Michael Jordan's head, so anything is possible!

Better analysis would be Baseball Hard hats on Bonds head.

I'm sorry, but if the Rockets aren't getting Tim Duncan or Dwight Howard then Yao should stay.

Why not, its not like we are rewarding our big man with more touches. Ric has turned Yao into Brad Miller.

Bosh can be our Chris Webber and than the Rockets can trade for the real Brad Miller, bring Bibby back. There you go, we have the Kings back.

Barry Bonds head, true. The only other Centre worth swapping for Yao would be Dwight Howard. Not that it would happen.

There are only two truly "untouchable" players in the NBA.

Yao and Lebron

Lebron for obvious reasons. But the lay fan doesn't realize how valuable Yao is to Les Alexander. Les has invested much in cultivating the Chinese market and will reap the benefit even after Yao retires in a Rocket's uniform.

Yao ain't going nowhere; he doesn't want to go (he's singularly loyal) and Les surely doesn't want him to go.

It's a moot point.

So why on earth would rockets want to do this?

Return to Houston Rockets
