Rick Adelman: "Just give Yao the damn ball"

Adelman's post game discussion on who is calling what and taking those shots down the stretch.

"He's (Yao) got to demand the ball...You just got to go the post and you tell them to 'bring it to me'. He's looking around playing pick and roll when he just scored six times in a row... Until they stop him we've got to run through him every time. He's just got this mentality that he's trying to fit in but sometimes he's got to take control. It's just something he's got to continue to work on."

"We have to learn what your strengths are when the game is on the line and go to your strengths. Not try to manufacture something that is not going to be good."

yao should never shoot the ball 9 times in a game unless its a blowout. 9 shtos vs LA is terribly unnacceptable

???? He shoots at the highest percentage on our team....

Back to the original topic, I've seen Yao catch some pretty tough passes when crossing in the lane this year (much improvement over previous seasons). At the end of games, when teams are tripling him, I just don't see how he can get the ball. Hence the 2/3 star rule, you gotta be able to make the team pay if they are gonna double/triple any player on defense.

I think he meant it isn't enough touches...
