OT: Portland can kill us.

These guys are loaded. We barely won last time and IMO we have a better chance against the Jazz than Blazers. They are tall and heavily armored at every position with length and quickness.

They're killing the Jazz right now. Oden just rejected a driving jumper by Deron. Something Yao could never do.

So, you mean the Jazz don't want the Blazers in the Playoffs... Neither do the Lakers.

That has nothing to do with the Rockets. Yao would get Oden in foul trouble easily.

As long as we got HCA, I'd feel quietly confident of victory.

Just because A beats B, and B beats C, does not mean A will kill C.

I don't think so. The Blazers aren't legitimate contenders yet, they're not as good a team as we are. I don't think they can really handle a Brooks/Lowry onslaught.

Because if that was the case, the Jazz should fear us because we beat the Blazers.. And we should fear the Thunder because they beat San Antonio... twice.

Rockets match well with Blazers as Artest and Battier give Roy lots of problem. Yao is also better suited for games against teams with traditional Bigs like Oden and Joel. Oden is also one player that will be more foul prone than Yao. So far the head-to-head record between the 2 team is 1-1. Even though these both games are close, Rockets would be 2-0 up if not for Roy's 0.8 sec 3pt shot at Portland. The series between Rockets and Blazers will be competitive but I like Rockets' chance vs Blazers.

Rockets match-up with any team well that doesn't take out Yao's effectiveness. The only team that does take out Yao's effectiveness very well is the Utah Jazz.

If you want to use the logic that we "barely" beat the blazers then how about the blazers only beat the Rockets by 1 at Portland with a lucky shot that shouldn't have counted?

Why are the Rockets "C"

Just because C beats B and B beats A doesn't mean C will Kill A.

No team is safe in the playoffs. Considering how close all the teams are....we drop the next 5 and we could be in 7-8th. It's still too early to say/speculate these things and it'll always be too early....until we play the games to say if we can beat portland or portland "will kill" us. Every playoff series this year will go to at least 6 games, I think. (at least in the west, no telling with the eastern conf.)

cmon man. portlad can kill us?

so la, spurs, and utah too? so wtf do we do when we go to the playoffs?

EVERY TEAM IS LOADED! that includes the rockets even w/o one of their big 3.

some matchups are better than others but with only 2 of our big 3, we'd be hard pressed to get to the wcf's. 2nd round isnt impossible as long as yao can shoot the mother **** ball more than 7 **** times.

Oden doesn't even start! so why even bring his name into the convo. We should really be worried about Flop-zilla, he can take Yao out of the game real early and let Roy and aldridge have a field day.

Honestly we would be killed in a 7 game series against anyone but this team can spank us bad based on who we play and can't hold up. We are like the inexperienced team not them. We just suck.

As a Portland fan, I think the Blazers could be rather competitive at home winning 2-3 there, but the real problem will be winning at the Toyota center. Heck, being that the playoff chase is so close, we may be 5 seeds apart by the season's end, but whomever we match up with, road games may be unkind for PDX.
