WTF Yao

3-6 last game.

2-7 this game.

Eventhough we won. There is no hope for us EVER contending with Yao putting up this kind of production in a crucial game. Has he been... figured out?

JVG made a good observation during the game: almost all of our players try to make post entry passes at the corner of the three point line. He said that makes it a lot easier for the defensive player to front and the Rockets should go to the corners where Yao can seal better. Against the fronting defense Yao has only been able to get the ball when it is passed in the corner and he just does his turn around jumper, or when he makes a strong move to the center of the lane and waits for the pass.

FK him, this series is on him. We lose and I am going to rip on him for being the biggest pussy ever.

The whole thing pisses me off, l compare his mentality with a midget.

Real Deal The Dream "You can't stop me"

The great fake Wall "Okay you going to send doubles, I let my team mates win and I will be happy running up and down the court"

Yea I've had it with him. I'll admit I didn't see the game tonight but seeing the boxscore told me all I needed to know. How is it possible for a star player to be so easily shut down? Honestly, if he continues to play like this there's a very big possibility that we lose the series. At least Tmac always showed up for playoffs.

Unless Adelman is holding onto that secret counter front strategy for game 7 of the NBA final, i think there is officially no counter for the front defense on Yao. You can make all the adjustments you want but Yao will always be limited by the front.

Because he ain't a star, he is just a role player happy to be team player.

Its like that person you hate because you know how good they can be, but they always fking underachieve because mentally they are midgets "tell themselves, I am not that good"

Stick Shaq's personality in Yao Ming's body, you would see somebody who truly wants to punish every player defending him.

Portland did a great job of fronting Yao today, but there were times when Yao got great position in the deep post. The problem is none of the Rockets besides Battier can throw lob passes down low consistently without turning it over. There's really not much chemistry between Yao and our wing guys (Brooks, Lowry, Artest, Wafer) because they have not really played with him for very long.

If we want to contend for a championship we'd better get a legit first option. I wouldn't go as far to say that Yao's a role player but his game and mentality is more suited for that of a 2nd or 3rd option.

:) Did you folks watch the postgame 3 conference?

Rick Adelman repeatedly ripped Yao. He criticizes Yao not making adjustment to defender's fronting. Poor Yao. But then, Yao deserves every blame. He
sucks ass in game 2 and 3.

Yao owes Scola & Brook a thank you note.

If he doesn't show up next game, his status as the 2nd best center in the league may soon be going to someone else.

Anyone got a link to the postgame? I want to hear this.

I hope the whole team rips him. Maybe that will get him fired up.

Anyone else here feel that this may be due to some injury? Maybe Yao's hurting or something and he's not telling anyone? IDK how else to explain this. Or maybe he just sucks.

If Oden did not foul every 2 minutes I'd take him over Yao any day. We would be lob city..

But you gotta understand that it was Yao's presence at the low post that allowed Scola and Landry to shoot the ball at the high post. Rather than blaming Yao, I think Oden deserves a lot of credit for staying aggressive against Yao on the defensive end.

I understand that, but that doesn't make him any less of a pussy. Maybe with Deke out, he is going to be less aggressive because we need a 7FT center in the middle.

i am just sick of making excuses for him.

Shaq would not like Yao's body. He would give up as well. Slow big legs.. No Ups.. It's mainly Yao's body that hinders his game if he can make those passes for cutters and what not.

I also think Adelman is being ridiculous. It is the coach's job to devise a scheme that allows the players to play within their strengths. He has the right to rip Yao apart, when he hasn't figured out a way to solve this fronting woes.

agreed completely. Yao's body has too much limitation.

Rudy T, JVG, and now Rick Adelman. These are great coaches.
Fronting remains a problem to Yao. Yao has to change the way he
plays the game. DO NOT blame coaches. Thank you very much!

Despite his limitations, if he had an aggressive mentality like Shaq. Yao wouldn't be posting 20/10, it would be 27/10, nor would he settle for 7 points tonight.

I don't expect him to be a fantastic rebounder, but offensively he can do so much more.
