after 12 years of suffering, failure after failure, yao can't do this, adelman is a crappy coach, artest is that, the rockets have finally passed the first round.

i'm a huge tmac fan but none of that matters now, the rockets are what it matters and they are finally out of the first round.

congrats guys, bring on the lakers now.

Ron is the only one on the Rockets that believe they can win the title this year.

Yes Ron is the most optimistic rocket player. I believe the rockets will play loose in the 2nd round and may spring some surprises. If Artest & battier can limit Kobe, Rockets will have a chance. Also will be interesting to see how LA counter Yao. Doubt they will double.

I am so drunk. I am so proud of this team. We haven't had this much chemistry since we won the titles.

That being said, the Lakers are dangerous, also have great chemistry and talent, plus homecourt advantage.

I think not being satisfied with beating them is being unrealistic. I just don't want to get sweeped. If we can beat them 2 games we can say we are better than Utah and I will be happy with that.

It can happen, but probably not this year. I want us to play hungry and play hard. I want the young guys to know what it takes to win series and eventually a title. Man, i'd hate to play portland next year. =/

How I feel about our title chances this season is irrelevant. This isn't baseball where advancing past the 1st round means you're one of the best in the majors and necessitates celebrating, or even making the playoffs for that matter. I wouldn't be opposed to celebrating if the Rockets beat the Lakers or got to the finals even if they eventually lost, but it's the 1st round. They haven't done anything yet that they shouldn't have done in 07.

Portland fan here, congrats on the victory on the series, the better team won in the end. I am now a huge Lakers fan (joke) but seriously good luck against them, they will be a much greater challenge then we were.

I'm in on the popping the champagne simply because without TMac and Alston, and with us out of the first round, 3 of the biggest things everyone's needed to STFU about for 4 years have been either temporarily or permanently taken care of. You'll never get anyone to stop bitching about the coach, that's pretty much a perpetuity in sports, but ah, such relief from the rest.
