Why not a T-mac for Ray Allen swap?

Both guys contract expires next season. Would the Rockets do this or pursue it?

I think we would, but I don't see why Boston would.

Ray Allen,Rip,Redd are all very good shooters. Unfortunately they are not playmakers for others and need someone to set them up. The only player on the Rockets who does that is McGrady. Until the Rockets get/develope another play-maker they won't trade McGrady for a pure shooter.

I don't think I've ever heard of trading an expiring contract for another expiring contract.

Hey, he will be ready for training camp and ready to go at the beginning of the season!! From the mouth of the dragon himself.....

Now, whether you believe the source or not....it's your decision.

At this point, I don't think we could even get Redd for Tmac. Maybe detroit b/c they'll try to make a run at wade or something.....

Why would Boston do this? It's not like they want to save money, and Allen is coming off one of his best seasons; 48% from the field and over 40% from the distance. McGrady is coming off the worst season of his career, and just had microfracture surgery. It's unrealistic, lock this.

I think he was merely stating that we wouldn't have anyone to set up Allen, or any other pure shooter for that matter, in his spots so he can be effective. Whether McGrady plays or not was not relevant.

If Tmac doesn't play then where does the playmaking from tmac come from? And Ray Allen isn't some Kyle Korver, Eddy House like creature. The guy makes play.

The way i see it, we're trading 82 games of DNP for a pure scorer.

Allen has been able to create plays better than those guys, true. He's also 34, and I'm sure scores a lot of his points now (admit I haven't seen him play much lately) off open catch and shoots, as opposed to creating his shot all the time. Boston uses Rondo/Pierce as a playmaker tandem, with Allen as the first receipient, ONE of his options being to move to a new shooting location from where he can either take a new shot or give it to someone else if he didn't get enough spacing. The point was that we don't have that playmaker. It's true that Allen could likely be better for us over the course of the season, especially if McGrady doesn't recover, but that still leaves Boston as not likely to make the trade.

Would you do a Hedo Turkeyglu / Tracy McGreedy swap?

Would you not? Hedo has surpassed tmac as a baller. Hate it or love it....it's the truth. Hedo has the swag of a winner and accepts the challenge of guarding the other team's best player. Who wouldn't love that type of player in their team? It'd be extremely hard to pry him away from orlando, plus I'm sure they still hate tmac. Hahaha

Oh right, Ray has proved on so many levels he is a winner.

Dude, the guy hasn't won jack **** outside of Boston.

Yes, his playoff resume is better than T-mac's team wise, but don't act like Ray's a proven winner. He's just in a real good situation. It helps to have Garnett and Pierce beside you.

He's been the key piece in all the teams he's been on. In Mil, they went to the conference finals with him and I can't even remember who else was on the team. In seattle he was injured a lot but still lead them past the first round. On a team with only a guy named rashard lewis and a bunch of other players.

What has your guy done? A few scoring titles.....and a lot of first round exits?

Maybe I should have said "a guy that can win for a guy that can't win".....would that make you happy?

Ah, the arbitrary mainstay "winner" argument.

Good times, good times.

Your guy, my guy, their guy, hurrah!

"Wasn't someone saying that same thing about Alston before he showed up on a team that just happens to be in the Finals?"
"Oh but he's killing them now eh!" "So? Your proven winner isn't there."

My mind is blown with excess insight and the sheer depth and breadth of perception.

Three cheers for arguing on things that can never be defined enough for anyone to make a point!!!
