Any chance we can sign Jason Kidd?

J Kidd is free agent this summer and He may looking for a ring.
I think he's great fit for the rockets.
A pass first PG, once we need speed, we have AB and lowry come up from the bench,
If we can sign J Kidd and find a back up for Yao,
we can be very dangerous regradless tmac gonna play or not.
But I think Dallas will offer him more $$ than the rox,
so, is there any chance we can get him? or anybody else likes this guy in houston?

I hope Dallas holds onto him as a reminder of that stupid trade. I also hope they overpay him.

The last thing we need is another key player one stubbed toe away from medical retirement. Don't get me wrong, he would be a great fit. But if he doesn't come in with a clean bill of health and a history of good health, its not worth the risk. We've seen it happen too many years in a row. I can't take another season like that. We need healthy players.

Honestly I would rather have Brooks grow more into the starting PG role. The kid still has lots of potential. I don't feel Kidd pushes us over the top.

If the Magic weren't in the lux, I think JKidd would like to go there. I remember him saying when he was on the Nets, that Orlando would be a FA hotspot b/c he saw how good Howard was gonna be. And look what's happened. He'll be arguably the best center in the league for the next 7-8 years. Kidd isn't as fast as he used to be but I saw him keep up this year with Dallas. Imagine dwight's numbers with a passer like that.....
I don't think Kidd wants to go back to Dallas. He wants to be on a contender. I think Lakers, Cleveland might get him. =/

Same here...Don't want him.
I've always appreciated Kidd's game and have enjoyed watching him play over the years.
However, while I know scoring isn't everything, I seriously think he's too impotent of a scorer compared to what he now gives up on the defensive end to be considered an overall positive for his team. The days of him effectively guarding premier 2's are gone. He's certainly not the worst in the league at it, but with his suspect scoring ability (or will?), I think its a concern.
For the Rocket's sake, I hope he stays with the Mavs. I think they were better off with Harris and I think the Rockets would be better off with Brooks or Lowry.

I wouldn't mind him, but we'd likely have to sign him to some sort of long term contract which I wouldn't be too comfortable with because of his lack of scoring, decline in his defensive abilities, and overall age getting up there.

rather go after a young pg than one almost retiring. kidd is on the downhill, and he can't do most of the things he used to do. he'd be overpaid

The second line in your post shows you dont know too much about basketball. How is Jason kidd a "great" fit for the rockets????
Were not a run and gun type team, we dont have athletic wing players. Not only that but hes past his prime as well and looking for a ncie pay cheque. Jason kidd would be a great fit on Atlanta or Golden state, im not sold on him in a half court offense although his 3 pt shooting has improved. Also the big point guards in the west these days like parker paul williams billups he cant keep up with

I always chuckle inside when Chris Paul and Tony Parker are mentioned as "big" point guards. They're like 180. Happens all the time, anyway.

I think Kidd would be awesome for the rockets. He could really run the offsense at a very high level, a level that is not possibly to be reached by either AB or Lowry in a matter of 3 years.

Kidd is an old man. Any older he would be my papa.
Let's face it. In the Western Conference, you've gotta have
speed as point guard. You are facing guys like Tony Parker,
Brandon Roy, Leandro Barbosa who can run like a fox.
Kidd can't possibly keep up with those legs.

It tells me you probably think Michael Jordan is that guy who played for the Wizards.
Does anyone see what would happen with Kidd and Yao on the floor together???
1 6-4 past his prime, running point guard
1 Injured 6-8 wing who's useless without the ball
1 6-7 ballstopping overweight small forward
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 7-6 injury prone center who doesn't need to run.
1 tspn bad coach
Recipe for distaster.
Bad I know. Point is, we don't want him.
