Is this where we are going?

2010 sweepstakes? I think it is.

We are keeping a firm eye on that, tbh. Knowing Yao's condition interally(within the FO), I think the Rockets are settling on having a poor 2009-2010 season in hopes for a good pick, the recovery of Yao Ming, developing of the youngsters; Aaron, Kyle, Carl, Taylor, Budinger, and even more cap room. No, not tanking, but trying/playing hard but with the lack of talent; sans Yao, T-Mac, and Ron, we can only do so well.

With Yao back, tons of cap room(approx 29 in guaranteed sals, bound to increase with FA...let's say about 42mil( so in essence 16mil in cap room), a great draft pick + Battier, Brooks, hopefully the re-signing of Scola, Landry are all here.

If we can sign Ron for a 1year deal, we still hold his bird rights, meaning if he agrees to come, he can come in here & play, weigh his options next off-season, as we do with him, and provided we have the room to sign a star such as Joe Johnson to like a 5 year,75-80 mil deal, then re-sign Ron, Scola on top of that our team is deep and pretty loaded.

If we can't sign Ron, we open up that more cap room and opportunity.

I think we are keeping an eye on the 2010 class, knowing this year will be a retooling year(developing youngsters, drafting a youngster), and hope to come back in 2010 with a re-loaded roster considering 50-60% of our rotation now will still be present.

Yeah, I think it's clear we won't do anything to disrupt the financial flexibility we'll have in 2010. A good pick in the draft would be nice.

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;
you shall have no other gods before me.

Why do you guys insist on assuming you know more about the CBA than Mr. Morey?

I hate to throw cold water on a perfectly good, perfectly useless thread....but damn.

Lets just wait.
