Whats up everybody? I don't know if ya'll were able to hear the interview, so I thought I'd post a summary of what was discussed before I head to class. I'm sure if you go to the 790 website you will see a link to the interview. I tried looking for it, but I'm not sure its posted yet.
Ariza was asked what happed with the Lakers front office. They said it seemed like he was a top priority after their championship run.
Ariza said, "From my understanding, there was never even an offer." The first day of FA negotiations, they signed Artest the first chance they got."
Ariza was asked, "Why Houston?"
Ariza said, "I'll be closer to my son and my family. I will be able to expand my role as a player and I look foward to that oppurtunity."
They then discussed how the Rockets were in sort of a transition stage with T-Mac hurt and Yao out for the season.
Ariza responded, "I don't think it will be that difficult as a transition. The guys they have play with alot of heart and fight till the end. They proved that against us (Lakers) in the playoffs."
Then they brought up Turkoglu and how he had an agreement with Portland but then bolted to Toronto. The rumors were building that Ariza could bolt Houston for Cleveland. Ariza was asked if he would be signing with Houston tomorrow.
Ariza replied, "Definatley!"
There you have it folks, I thought I'd post this for discussion. I'm excited about the guy. I think he with alot more oppurtunities he could develop into more than just a role player. Your thoughts?
